It's great. I don't use it often, but it was started by a higher up at Amazon and the guy knew what he was doing. Sure, it will never be as good as Amazon but they have competitive prices and some useful products. Definitely a good ecommerce site and I like using it.

the guy who started jet.com had originally founded diapers.com or some baby dot com site, that amazon ended up buying, and bringing him in to amazon with the deal.
he stayed a short time and left.. and has now started jet... which judging by the traffic and revenue of their launch.. will not be the power player they claimed to be anytime soon.

Did not know that. You're right, it will never remotely compare to Amazon.com but it will be a pretty decent ecommerce site. I have used them once, but see their boxes in my neighborhood recently when trash gets picked up which tells me others are using them too.

no one could really enter the marketspace today from ground zero and get near amazon. Amazon is too willing to spend money and eat losses to own the market share.

But back to Jet. Just 5 months into their launch, and they have had to do away with their annual fee to use the site. With the razor thin margins that they already have, that annual fee (akin to a Costco, sam's club, amazon prime) was the primary source of revenue for them. And they had to get rid of it in order to convince people to shop there. They're betting that in a world moving faster and faster to getting everything "on demand", people will accept a <3% price difference to wait to get their products 7-10 days later.
They're in their first lap of the swirl down the toilet bowl.
