4 billion for Acorn
600 million for new federal employee cars
1 billion for Amtrak, has lost money every year
50 million arts Endowment
200 million Smithsonian renovation
300 million to Hollywood
millions for bike paths
hundreds of millions for earned income credits

I thought this was the end of earmark & pork. And what about no lobbyists? Who is this defense Deputy Secretary from Raytheon?

Sad, so sad....theres an old saying. Something like all politicians are just alike! Without being a political nutjob and knowing why or EXACTLY how this affects all things I can say Obama dropped the ball, the 1st piece he drops on us is this....no way did they think this was gonna get a positive response from the people "in the real world" Hopefully after shoveling out this money we as the taxpayer(s) wont have anymore fraudulent bills like this come up.

The package is a real disappointment. Just like most of his cabinet. Also not sure why he had to say he was closing Gitmo when he doesn't have a plan what to do with the prisoners. This guy is beginning to look like a Neocon. It's possible we were conned. Time will tell. But I think we really have to hold this guys feet to the fire.

Wow, you guys are something. Of course there is much to be concerned about if you are being realistic in this package, and there will always be people you don't agree with in someone's cabinet. But man...he's just getting started. I want to know a lot more about this package, before I go nuts against it. I'd love to know where each part came from. I find it interesting that the previous stimulus packages before Obama had almost complete republican support, and now this one has NO Republican support at all? Does anyone with a real mind think there is something wrong with that?

Shamrock, since you posted it, can you give me a link that shows that the package has earmarked $4 billion specifically for Acorn? It was your top listing, just want to be sure that's the case, since you made it. I'd be pretty surprised that Acorn is going to grab $4 billion in the new package. Thanks...

Didn't agree with the last package Bush brought about either, I am an Obama supporter and was disappointed when I heard some of the used of the package. Seriously doubt ACORN is earmarked in the package as Sham stated but there is ALOT of wiggle room left in some of those earmarks or dedicated dollars. Really hoped and hope O cuts the BS out of Washington or attempts to do so as was the case in campaigning. Personally I think if you feed the less fortunate will help the economy more them the wealthy for the fact that the less fortunate people will spend immediately out of need for things the wealthy may save and put away the money and it would never hit the economy. Wouldn't be SOMETHIN like 75% of every $1 to the poor would go back in the economy versus something like 35% of every $1 for the rich? The repubs are a funny bunch of individuals...no support,LOL.

Not knocking Sham but that post looks like something Hannity would post. 300 million for Hollywood? For what lol. To paint the sign? After reading this i to was disappointed but then i did a little digging and saw some real good stuff in that bill. 90 billion for bridges and roads. over 10,000 schools to be upgraded. A nice bunch of stuff. As long as the cash stays here im all for it. Hell we are in so much debt at least the money stays here at home.

Hedge, you have a special talent that allows you to make collection calls to people late on their credit card payments. You don't have to rub your success in other people's noses. That is just mean.

" less than 12 cents of every dollar are considered plausible growth stimulus"

"less than 5% of the money in the bill is for fixing bridges and other highway projects" country desperately needs this infrastructure improvement, and would put people to work immediately.

Saddened and sickened are the two emotions I felt after reading that. I had high hopes for a better America but so much for that. Really? REALLY? I mean are you kidding me? What a joke.
