Pelicans +4.5
Pelicans +173
The Hawks have won an amazing 19 straight games but here's why I like New Orleans tonight.
--ATL is coming off a 7-game home stand, the last two of which were hard-fought wins over Portland and Philly. In fact, Philly overcame a BIG deficit and actually took a 4th-quarter lead before ATL rallied back. Hawks seem to be running low on energy, a streak like this, while wonderful, wears on everyone.
--Injuries. Starter Carroll, back-ups Sefolosha and Mack all banged up probably not playing. Sure, not star players, but we just need the chemistry to be a little off tonight.
--Schedule. After seven straight home wins I'm guessing the boys had a nice Super Bowl party last night and then left for New Orleans this morning. After this game they go straight back home for 2 more games, including a showdown with the Warriors.
--Pelicans are fighting for a playoff spot and will get Anthony Davis back tonight. They actually just beat the CLIPS without Davis and seem to have some positive mojo going.
Pelicans, 91-87.
