Ohio State and then......

Who?

a one loss Michigan that lost to OSU.

a one loss Texas that lost to OSU.

Some one loss SEC team that has a loss against a top quality team. Can you include Auburn if they dont even play in the conference title game? Ditto Tennessee?

a one loss ND (if it beats USC)

a one loss Cal (if it beats USC)

I dont expect an unbeaten to remain out of Big Least, but I am guessing WVa gets a title game trip (and a thrashing) if they win out, but the other 2 cant get there.

Would seem to be ZERO chance of an uncontroversial matchup.

SUN TZU - You and I don't agree on much, but isn't this what we want. The BCS will get exposed by the end of the year. There will be too much controversy this time for the BCS to overcome. I hope we can incorporate some kind of playoff system.

Yes, if there was a real chance of changing it. But with new Fox TV contract BCS is here for quite awhile regardless of the mess.

If we are gonna have the BCS I would rather have 2 clearcut teams. We may have 4, 5-6 that have a decent argument.

Should make for an interesting finish; i think it'll be the winner of tOSU vs Mich, (which i give michigan a good chance of winning, knock on wood) and i think someone will come out unscathed in the big east which will put them in the bcs title game. There is no way a 1 loss team is getting in over an undefeated big east team (regardless if its louis., ruthgers or WV) Barring that scenario, WOW it could be anybody. Let the contoversy start in the bs, i mean bcs.

provided that wvu gets by lvlle, i think we are gonna see wvu-osu/mich winner

should wvu lose.....

who the fuk knows......my bet would be fla has the best chance as a one loss team....means they won the sec east and another quality win in the sec title game vs osu/mich winner

I dont know. WVa is so far down in the computers they may not stay ahead of Florida/Auburn even if they are No 2 in the human polls. My guess is Florida gets there, and of course controversy. If Florida doesnt, it will be because they probably lost to Auburn for a 2nd time. Is Auburn gonna get jobbed yet again?

In light of the current standings, bowl tie-ins, BCS rules, order of selection, etc, I think we are looking at the following for the BCS bowls:

Title Game Ohio State v. Florida

Fiesta Bowl Texas v Boise State

Rose Bowl Cal v Michigan

Sugar Bowl Notre Dame/USC v Auburn

Orange Bowl BC/Ga Tech v Big East

played louisville (-4.5) over wvu before the season started. someone said the line opened at louisville (-1.5) for next thursday night. and i think that number is nuts. louisville (-7) or less is a major bargain next week. they are capable of winning by 10+ if they play a clean game. much respect for wvu but theyll be a BCS afterthought by next weekend.

I think VIlle wins as well. The wouldnt surprise me to see them lose to Rutgers.

Too bad for Cards that Cane win looks meaningless now. I dont think they can get to title game even if they win out.

:scared If both stay undefeated the mich/Ohio St game will be the real championship game of not only the Big Ten but of the real championship of the bcs.

Then that winner, should play W Vir/Louisville winner if they stay undefeated, if not then it must go to a team that did not already lose to Ohio St leaving out michigan and texas.

Next it depends on who comes out of pac 10 with only one loss cal or usc.

Same with sec need a one loss team to be considered florida or auburn.

BUT I SEE W VIR GOING UNDEFEATED WITH THE REST OF THEIR SCHEDULE SO THEY WILL PLAY OHIO ST FOR ALL THE MARBLES PROVIDING THE BUCKS BEAT MICHIGAN AND I'M PRETTY SURE THEY CAN TAKE CARE IF THEM AGAIN AT HOME.

THERE YOU HAVE IT CALL THE BCS AND GET MY FEE FOR MAKING THIS EASY

Not to surprising to see the Ohio State fans wanting the Big East team.

WVa is gonna be hurt in the computers no matter what. They could easily be unbeaten and not get there. I dont think Ville has any shot even if unbeaten. Thye arent going to jump over a bunch of teams to 2 in the polls.

I understand why this is fun to discuss.......

BUT ITS A JOKE TO BRING IT HERE AT THIS POINT IN THE SEASON.........:SIB

Ok, now the BTJ CAPS are off for now, but for fsake, there are Soooo many teams that are going to be a one loss team(I hope!)that deserve a shot at this title game that are not being mentioned at all?:142smilie

Odds are that it will play out like most of you have said, BUT, there is alot of football yet to play:com:

Respectfully,
Franky

P.S. and dont start with the schedule BS either, LOL:nono:

All doubters and naysayers are welcome :)

Like who? Tulsa? BC? Wake? Wiscy? You really arent arguing they deserve a shot are you?

But seriously, upon further thought, it wouldnt shock me at all for it to end up being Notre Dame. They have a great shot to win out.

There is absolutely no way that an undefeated big east team gets the shaft. They would be number 2 in both human polls, and those would be enough points right there for the bcs. In addition the computers would adjust with louis/rutgers/w.v. playing each other and gaining points, not to mention, strength of schedule only really matters when two or more teams have the same amount of losses; it won't come into effect for the big east, i guarantee.

Sun, I think that the is consensus, but not from this Buckeye fan. I remember WAY back in 2002, when an undefeated team that squeaked by a bunch of teams, and didnt have the best talent had to hear for 6 weeks that they didnt have a chance to win.......We know how that story ended.

I dont really want any part of West Virginia, even though, I am not sure that a slightly one -dimensional team could beat the Buckeyes.

With that being said, I love it how the Buckeye fans around here all already talking National Championship game. I suppose it is only natural.......but I think we all have a game (perhaps the biggest game of my lifetime) in 3 weeks to decide who gets to go.......us or the hated rival, who also happens to be an OK football team.

Let's not forget Tenn>>>

Let's not forget Tenn>>>

The Vols have nothing but a loss by one pt to FL. Obviously that gives the upper hand to FL and with FL's remaining schedule I cannot see them losing, albeit a difficult SEC Champ game. But you never knows.

Is there still the qualification that a team must win it's conference game to go to the BCS title game?

The reason I ask is that after the clear cut OSU-Mich group the next group has FL, TN, Aub, TX. The group after that has WV-Lou-ND-USC-Cal.

You have to figure that the following matchups knock out at least 4 teams:

USC-ND
SEC Cham game--FL vs Aub?
Lou-WV
OSU-Mich
Cal-USC
LSU-Tenn
Lou-Rut
Arky-Tenn
Tx-Tx A & M
Rut-WV

If I had to vote for the NC game right now I would have OSU-FL.

Also, trying not sound like a homer you never know about SC. If they win out, a few crazy things happen and they clear their schedule, it is not totally inconceivable, though probably highly undeserving considering the calibre of the loss.

But I would easily have one loss TX, Tenn, FL, AU, and the loser of the Mich game ahead of them at this juncture. If all those teams with a current loss lose another and the OSU-Mich game a has a deciding victor, then chaos could set in. You could actually have a one loss TN sitting there.

What a big circle of crap.

Then again this whole thing will probably play out much easier and our speculation will be just that.
