deep south
have to hit a few tourist spots on or close to bourbon street. pat o'briens courtyard is great place to have a drink and always fun at their piano bar. jackson square is a must see also. take a afternoon and just walk the french quarter and check out all the shops, bars and places to eat.

been there over a 100 times and have never had any problems although there are some shady areas; just be aware of what is going on. being 2 men do not think you will have any problem whatsoever as being alone is much easier for someone to rob you.

you will have a great time

Excellent recommendation......Ruby slipper is a great breakfast spot which also happens to be owned by a good friend of mine. I stop in to a different location closer to my hood about once a month

Who owns the Court of two sisters now? I know who the previous owners were, Jay and Jerry..... wondering who owns it now? Father in law was a Jester there.

Rode in Endymion Parade a couple times back in the early 90's, ending up in the super dome. Started off with the crew at achme oyster house at 9 am.....ending at 4 am extravaganza .....Hell, those were the days :toast:

The Feins have owned as long as I remember. Pretty sure one of the brothers died a couple years ago. My dad was a jester, too. I'd say small world, but New Orleans is a 1.4 million metro with a small town feel

I heard that one of the brothers died, was not sure if the family kept the restaurant or not .

Buddy of mine from college. He's never been before either. Pretty much open to anything.

Just be careful. I wouldn't walk around at night with a woman but two guys shouldn't be an issue if you don't present yourself as a target. The city is a shit hole, bums everywhere and lots of crime. People looking to take advantage of you at every turn.

I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was the worst I have ever seen. More bums on the streets than ever. State Troopers on Bourbon St. I've never seen that before so I asked one of the establishment managers what was going on and he said there had been several shootings recently.

Why? Everything I stated is fact.

Much of your post is fact.....NOLA has a high murder and homeless rate, both top 5 nationally. We also have a top 5 rate of tourism, so chances are you'll be alright unless you pick up hookers or enter the hood seeking drugs.

This part of your post is laughable....

People looking to take advantage of you at every turn.

Regardless of your thoughts on this topic, you are either dumber than I've pegged you, which is a near impossibility, or you already know damn well I think of you as a total scumbag from our past exchanges.:0074

Oh well, if you choose to live in New Orleans that pretty much says it all. What a shit hole.
