headed to san diego next weekend, what should i do while there?

never been to california before. vegas is as far west as this tenn. boy has ever been. just wondering where i should visit. only hava a couple of days so want to use my time wisely. may just rent a car and drive around one day. any recommendations or casino info appreciated.

If you must try a casino , go to Harrahs north of SD by about 30 mins, closest thing to vegas as one can get.

If u like the "wild" life head south where i live now in Mexico, about 30 mins south of SD . If u plan to drive park in US side and walk across then take taxi u will be fine.

but if u are solo dont do the tourist stuff , its all family oriented. The casino and mexico are for the "solo" guy. but if u are the family man type look me up maybe a sail on the bay and a little fishing might be in order.

been San Diego resident for about 22 years now, done everything here. Boring usually , its the weather thats makes it great here.

If you've never been to Cali, then the first thing I'd suggest is getting to the ocean and just taking in for a few minutes. La Jolla maybe?

How old are you and what kind of things do you like? There are dozens of great things to do.....depending on what you like to do. Sailing? The 2nd best zoo in the entire U.S., great beaches, museums, casinos....

Go to LaJolla 20 minutes away and go to George's at the Cove 1250 Prospect Street. Best place on Earth.

LaJolla Beach--great place just to walk up and down the beach and watch people

Go to La Hania in Pacific Beach, grab a seat on the deck with a pitcher of beer and do some people watching.

I'd also grab a fish tach at Rubios's.

but i would suggest:

go to the border
park at the mcdonalds lot
cross the border
cab to revolution boulevard
walk up and down and drink as much as you can
come home
throw up
see the doctor for the crabs you just got if you took in any of the local girls.

Lived there 35 years ago. Couldn't say much as I'm sure so much has changed. LaJolla Beach and watch the sun go down is impressive. Zoo was fabulous if you're into that. Loved the weather there so enjoy your trip.

laJolla, is great for people watching and golf.. Balboa Park(ZOO) ........

Take the trolly south all the way to Tijuana walk across hit the book up "Caliente" make a wager on anything from horses to your favorite team sport, jump in a cab there all over go to zona norte thats where you can either get some street hooker for 10 bucks plus the room rate of 5 or there are a couple of clubs "Chicago Club" or "Adelitas" where you can pay 50 for some high class ass.

thanks for all the input, some of you guys really thought about this. since i'm taking my wife i'm gonna lay off the hookers. i would like to go to the beach and watch the sunset. may venture up to harrahs and gamble. think i'll wait until my kids are bigger and take them there to the zoo. thanks everyone who replied.
