Heaven, oh!!, this isn't it?!
Fellas,

Thinking about heading down to St Louis for the Final Four! Looking for any help on tickets, places to stay, and where/what to do beside the games. Would leave Friday afternoon, or early Saturday morning, and it will take us two(my buddy) about 5 hours.
Would come back probably Tuesday, but if we can sell our final game tickets for a nice chunk, we will come back Sun/Mon.

Things we already know;

Tickets are outrageous
Cant find a room within a ? hour of downtown.
Have a map (internet seat chart) of the Edwards Dome.

What we are willing to do;

Spend up to $500-700 per ticket for the (3) three games.
Will drive up to 30-35minutes from our hotel.
Have a blast!

Looking for any and all advice, especially from those close to the stadium/area. My buddy went to the 2000 Final Four in Indy. So he has an idea about tickets, etc. Let me know what you guys can find out! Thanks!

Franky

Stay at the Drury Inn in Fenton MO. just off I-44 about 20 min from downtown, (they have 2 drury inns about a mile from each other right on the interstate) Go to any strip bar across the river, I prefer PTs, lotta a fun, any cab driver can get you there in a couple of minutes.

Hit the Landing on the river, a lot of night spots there drinks and food, good time. Plus river boat casinos, If you like Italian food head for the hill, again the cab driver will know what your talking about.

Have fun, and welcome to the show me state!

How the hell can the "Check my 'Service Engine' light get more replies than this thread??!!
We had a room bought on Ebay right downtown, just blocks from the Dome, then the seller backed out on us!! The Jerk!.........
Anyways back to square one. Tickets are going for 800 nose bleed to 13,000 center court per seat. We have decided to wait until the half of the first game, and beat up on the scalpers! Anyone know what the scalping laws are like down there? Cant believe LL is the only one who has any thoughts, but so be it...........

LL, you have alot of faith in these cab drivers :scared Can you let me know what the name of the restaurant is on the hill, and by 'the river' I assume the Ole Miss?, oh, and which casino is the easiest to win at? :mj07:
The rest of you M Jackers get busy!! or I will have to send some muscle :cursin:

Been to many final fours. Tickets will be cheaper at the games than you might think. And your Monday night tickets wont fetch much as all teh saturday losers are dumping theirs. I always over pay for Saturday then go down to courtise of first game loser and get their tickets for Monday. Last year I got an Okie State seat 8 rows up from the floor for Monday for 100 bucks. Granted, it may be tougher if Illinois advances, but what I am saying is the way to go.

Just about all the Italian Restaurants on "the hill" are great, don't think you would be disappointed.

From the TWA dome to Pt's $12.00 cab fair (at least last year) prob more now. The St. Louis cab drivers do know there shit, and most even speak english.

Stay away from the casinos on the Illinois side, rip offs, don't remember what the name of the big one on the Missouri side is, used to be the admiral but think it's changed.

Have a blast, make sure you get by and take a good look at good ol bush stadium, set for demolition at the end of this season. :cry: I love that place.

Peace,
LL

if i were you i would look into staying in the westport area. many hotels and bars around the best 2 casinos st louis side of missouri are 10-15 minutes away from westport. it is about 20-25 minutes from downtown. also if i were you i would stay away from the landing it is a shitpit so are the gambling boats quite honestly saint louis downtown is a shit hole. the best bar in my opinion in westport is the trainwreck saloon it is live music if you do not like live music go to margarita mamas. if you like a more uppity crowd you can head to clayton or chesterfield. scalpers will get busted downtown be careful cops will be about. went to a game at the dome a few years back against missouri and illinois quite honestly it sucked they had curtains up and the noise of the crowd was just not there i would not waste my money to go to another. whatever you do stay away from north st louis and east st louis bad news. also if you go to the strip joints in illinois go to centreville pt's the pt's right across the river in sauget only takes the tops off the one in centreville takes it all off. sorry for the random thoughts just going off the top of my head. it is funny i am watching sportscenter tonight and they are filming from union station i was there about a year ago and right down the street the sounds of gunfire be careful downtown seriously people think of st louis as a bunch of hillbillies and it is full of killing the hillbillies start about an hour or so west. if you have any questions just ask. good luck and if you drink and drive do the speed limit just ask leonard little.

Now thats what Im talkin about.........from a newbie no less :mj20: great info Scott......the only thing wrong is Im wondering if you might want to change your "handle/MJ's nickname" due to the association with "Scott for USC" :scared You know he has a reputation around here and I would hate to have a good fellow midwesterner be labeled as such :mj07:

Sorry Scotty (you better hope Illinois takes it cause the Powder Blues are done :) ) LOL!!! No offense......
