12/29 to 1/3 still haven't decided where to stay, going with girlfriend and several of her friends. First time for all of them, I haven't been in years any info on shows, dinner, New Years eve would be appreciated.
Should have plenty of time to hit the tables
the girls are looking to dance the night away
Thanks

good luck trying to get a room for new years eve out here and if you do find one on the strip you will be paying 550 or so a night for paris, the aladdin, mgm venetian. if you are lucky might get into harra's or ballys for around 299 but dont think they will have rooms, try sunset station about 6 miles from strip probley 159-179 a night they might have rooms.
this is the worst weekend to try to get a room inless you do it 6 months in adv. they will kill you with the price.,

even though the golden nugget is older it the only 5* 4 diamond rated resort in vegas so it will be up there and sold out but if your looking at freemont which is fun on new years try the plaza, the freemont and the horseshoe or lady luck.

Bluegrass!
I've been to Vegas 7 times, and if I had to pick ONE thing that I'd like to see, it would certainly be the {b}DANNY GANS[/b] show! One of the most amazing things I've seen in my entire life! Seen all the Cirque De Sol productions; Mystere and O', but Gans by far is the best!! I could have sat down and listened to him all night long. A truly amazing entertainer and it's no surprise that he's held the title of "Entertainer of the Year" 2 years running.

The Mirage constructed Ganns his own theatre as well as his own residence that sits just behind the stage. BUT, if you don't call in advance, you can forget it. The 1st show we went to, there was a line of people nearly 200 deep just hoping to get in b/c of cancellations. We went with 8 other couples, and they were just as amazed as I was. For the 1st 30 minutes, I could've sworn that all the material was lip-synced. It is truly amazing...

Would have to 2nd Neemer's thoughts on Danny Gans. Truly the best show. The guy is enormously talented. I've seen him 4 times already on different trips to Vegas and on his lone trip to Atlantic City.

We've all seen people do impressions of presidents, Danny does the last 5 presidents, one better than the next. He does 4 dramatic scenes from 4 different movies. Absolutely awesome!

He has every singing performer down, right to their mannerisms. If you can get tickets any way, do it!

I'll put it this way: Before I saw Danny Gans for the first time, I had heard from 5 different people how great a show it was. I was thinking, it must be overated. When I left the show, I was blown away by how much better it was than I ever thought possible.

I will also be in Vegas from the 27th-31st, seeing Neil Diamond and David Copperfield.

Hope you have a great time.

Best of Luck,
Groz

If you are staying at the Rio-make sure to wander downstairs and get their Buffet-outstanding!!
And one of the most underated things to do in Vegas-visit RED ROCK Canyon. Mrs Whale and I rode horserode through the desert and it was AWESOME!!
Have fun!!
