Playing the road team the 1st game day after the All-Star game has been a profitable angle for me the last 2 years. Thought I'd bring it up to the board for debate?? Not sure what the reasoning is, maybe getting too comfortable at home throughout the break, while the road teams figure since we gotta pack up and play on the road, we might as well get a "W"?? :D

Here are the results from the last 3 yrs......

Last Year......
Bos @ CBJ 8-0 (RW)
Ott @ TB 4-4 (Tie)
NYI @ Fla 6-6 (Tie)
Det @ Col 3-1 (RW)
Phx @ Vanc 2-4 (HW)
Phi @ LA 3-1 (RW)

Road teams 3-1-2

The Year before......
Phi @ Bos 3-4 (HW)
Buf @ NYR 6-3 (RW)
StL @ CBJ 2-2 (Tie)
NJ @ Mont 4-0 (RW)
Minn @ TB 4-2 (RW)
Ott @ Det 2-4 (HW)
SJ @ Calg 1-1 (Tie)
Chi @ LA 3-3 (Tie)

Road teams 3-2-3

The Year before......
Wash @ Bos 2-2 (Tie)
StL @ Det 4-1 (RW)
Edm @ Mont 5-4 (RW)
Car @ NYI 4-3 (RW)
NJ @ NYR 2-2 (Tie)
SJ @ TB 8-0 (RW)
Buff @ Col 2-0 (RW)
Ana @ LA 5-3 (RW)

Road teams 6-0-2

I only kept record for the last 3 yrs (12-3-7), but as far as I know, the road teams were at least .500 going 6 yrs back. With Col, Phi, Wash, Buff, Atl, Van, Nash, Ana on the road tomorrow, I see no worst than .500 for these teams overall even before capping them.

THOUGHTS???

Good luck tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

Chenks,

The break was great, ended up losing a little bit playing NBA & NCAA over the weekend. But definitely feeling refreshed after not looking at my hockey sheets for 3 days:D. Watched the All-Star game and the skills competition, and realized MacInnis is a freak of nature, 97mph slap shot with a wooden stick, and he's 39?? Unreal. All-Star game was great, too. Hope you had a good one, as well. The Dorks saved my ass on Thursday.:p

Definitely playing Philly tomorrow, and leaning toward all 3 that you mentioned, plus the Nucks. Lemieux said he's all set to come back on Tuesday, but I don't think he'll have his game legs back for a couple of games. Like the Thrashers, too. Have to look into the games a little more, but I definitely see us going back in the win column tomorrow:D.

Yooo Dubbs! Im definately feeling the Road teams too for Tuesday. It's weird cuz I was lookin at the schedule over the weekend and noticed that most of my picks were road teams. Now I see this stat of yours and it's makin me smile!! :D Some nice road doggies too!! Hopefully tommorow will be a nice big day for lots! So glad the break is over and hockey's going at it 100% again. Right now Im leaning to Anaheim, Pittsburgh (I really like how lemieux is back, but can they really get the win?? hope so!), Atlanta, Nashville (sorta, will prolly scratch), Philly, Washington (not too sure bout this one), and Colorado (just b/c of Roy). Will hopefully go over em tommorow if I have time. Good luck to all!!

Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeace!!

DUBS,
Any idea how the totals have done historically?
It would be interesting to know if they come back from break playing D or not.

No sweat, guys. Glad we all cashed in on this little angle. Hopefully it will hold true again for us next year;) :D .

Brett, sorry for the lateness in replying. It was just one of those days. Didn't check this thread until just now. The O/U was 13-9 over the last 3 yrs on my count, and looks like 3-2-3 this yr.
