Does anyone here work in the healthcare sector? It doesn't have to be hospitals, it could be a consulting firm, medial equipment/supplies etc. Thanks.

I have several friends that work for some major healthcare companies. Outside of music, it's what Nashville is all about.

I'm in the healthcare industry but in a niche most people don't evn know about. My company runs clinical trials for pharma and botech companies.

Why do you ask DT?

Just looking for advice. I have a undergrad degree in economics, and a Masters in Health Care Admin, and I'm struggling to find a job. Just any sort of entry level job right now would be fine.

masters in HCA? hmmmm...

I hear the "I can't get a job" a ton with that Bachelor's degree.

There are always nursing home administrator positions open around here. It's like they just kind of rotate them between facilities. Probably no different where you are. Other than that, you just need to apply at some big hospitals and see what you get. Unfortunately for you, one of the problems you will face is that prospective employer will want you to have a nursing/clinical background as well.

edit add on...

Just thought of something. How about checking with Joint Commission (JCAHO)? http://www.jointcommission.org/ Sounds like your background might work well with them being a facility auditor? Again, they might want experience, but check it out.
