I keep things simple in the SB...avoiding most Props, etc.
Here is my take on today's action......
As a former football player I always keep four things in mind in Championship Games...
-Running Game and Back Versatility
-LB Athleticism/Safety Awareness
-Pass Rush
-Coaching Urgency
With that said, here's what I mean...
Running Game and Back Versatility
-I think the Giants have a slight edge in this department. Bradshaw gives them a burst on the edge and Jacobs gives them the power to be able to run in the vicinity of Wilfork on 3rd and 2's.
LB Speed and Athleticism
-This is the most crucial aspect of this game! The Patriots will target their TE's 15+ times in this game. Michael Boley and company will be
ready for the test! Having faced TE's such as Graham and V. Davis, they have worked on LB/TE coverage continuously in the latter part of the season and postseason.
Pass Rush
-I think we can all agree that this favors the Giants.
Coaching Urgency
-Here's where things get tricky. BB has been in these games many times. Cough in has been there before, but his urgency due to the timing in his career may force him into bad decisions that put pressure on Eli and company to come from behind down the stretch.
With all of this said, here's my verdict......
I believe Eli was right when he put himself in the upper echelon of QBs with his statement before the season.
I believe that the NYG LB's will be prepared for Hernandez/Gronk.
I believe Woodhead is a key factor for NE.
But at the end of the day I see the NYG pass rush keep Brady on his heels. I think Brady finishes around the 290-310 mark with 2 td's.
I think a big game from Bradshaw and Eli's use of Hakeem Nicks for 10-12 yard outs is the difference.
A faster start than many think will give way to a period of punts and low risk play calling, but in the end, I like the Giants to score the go ahead TD in the last 8 minutes and hold on for a 28-24 Victory, and Eli's eventual spot in
Canton.
GIANTS ML.....3*
UNDER 54.....barely
also playing
1* on NY to win by 4-6...pays 5/1
And 1* on NY by 7-10....pays 8/1
