So Cal
Ummm....I think Rodney Peete is still playing! Just kidding being a USC alum myself, heart hopes it will be Palmer. But I don't see it happening. Let's face it - this is a very tough pick. Hell, you would think that the QB of a team that has won 30+ games in a row would be a cinch. Guess you could argue that Heisman should be after bowl games - but that would virtually eliminate chances of anyone not playing bowl game.

well well. craig james announced on yahoo sports he was a palmer man--so too, beano cook exalted the QB who defeated a televised ND team. no doubt carson is the hottest prospect to win--but he won't. maybe though, thats just my will speaking--as i dont think hes deserving--neither is dorsey--and so to the same extent magahee. jeez--i'd be damn near close to posting an undefeated record if the only sack i endured in my collegiate career as a QB was against a temple squad--with game already out of hand, and my o-line falling asleep. what he get sacked like TWICE in his carteer-or sumthin goofy like that? so then to punish the two beacause they're on a national champion team? arghhh frigit! banks is the best of the bunch period, not trivializing what penn st hb did--2000 yds+ speaks volumes in and of itself, regardless you get it in garbagetime mop-up games---but the flipside of that coin IMHO is what kills his chance to walk away with the trophy, as he couldnt impose his will, and get the much ballyhooed WIN. thats right--the dubya! we all know magahee aint gettin any votes---reallly. it really hurts to watch dorsey throw the ball--he practically gave the winning strwak over to BC a yr or two ago with the 4-int atrocity of a game, with the def saving his skinny ass. the realist in me though, relents to the fact that it'll be another ron dayne like heisman ceremony--and that sucks. but what do i care---doesnt have any kinda bearing on the reality that is my humbled existence---cept i wastin time here ramblin. screw it--give it to dorsey--JUS to reiterate--BANKS should win---buut dorsey will; hey who knows....maybe he can parlay it into backup role in the NFL---good luck!

Funny, you say Palmer does not deserve it. Lets just see what Palmer has done. He has the best stats of all the QB's and he put up those stats against the toughest schedule in the country. Yep, he does not deserve it. His worst game Palmer did not throw an INT and had 10 dropped passes, yep 10, and that was against Kansas St. who has a top 5 defense in the country AT KSU! Not one complaint after that game from Palmer, despite putting the ball on the recievers numbers. Yep, he does not deserve it.

What a JOKE your post is TBALL.

I don't think you would have liked me posting Palmers numbers compared to the other candidates because it would make you look like an idiot for saying Palmer did not deserve it. But maybe you are an idiot for making the comment.

TBALL, here is a link to Palmers numbers, i highly suggest you go check it out. Then go and compare it to the other candidates numbers, especially Banks and Dorsey. HUGE DIFFERENCE!

http://usctrojans.ocsn.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/palmer-home.html

My voting go like this.

1) Palmer
2) Banks (i don't even think he even had a 300 yard passing game and he faced a lot of TERRIBLE TERRIBLE teams, so he gets 2nd place and comparing his numbers against Palmers is a joke, so he gets 2nd place) (but he is an MVP type player not Heismon winner)
3) Johnson

Don't sweat it Scott! In about an hour we'll each be much richer! Palmer wins by a much wider margin than everybody thought. ;)

i dont take offense to you bashing my opinion--because its just that---an opinion, therfore cannot be be wholly right or wrong--it remains just that--my opinion. i cant quickly call up any gaudy stats to back up what i believe--as its more of what i saw--and what i liked in seeing. now if i remember right, and i could be wrong--as didnt follow CFB as closely this yr--as in past, but BANKS had the better rating--TD to int ratio etc. i mean, i dunno if theres a col rating like that of the NFL---i'm pretty sure there is, and i'm pretty sure banks had a better one than palmer. and still so, again its no big deal. again--i dont sweat you thinkin palmer is all that and then some---thats your right, and its your right to think my post is "a joke" i'm just glad i could put a glint in your day--to be able to make you feel soo superior in stature by knocking a opinion.

Maybe you nead to read your original post again and mine as well. I was not bashing your opinion on Banks winning the Heismon, i was upset with you saying Palmer was not deserving. I think all the candidates except Dorsey is deserving. Dorsey is great, but is not in the league as the other 4.

When someone makes a stupid comment, i will do my best to prove them wrong. And that is exactly what i did.

Your right, Banks did have fewer INT's compared to Palmer, but did you really look into it? Palmer has WAYYYYY more passing attempts than BANKS, and Palmer faced WAYYYYY better teams than Banks. Also Palmer only had 6 interceptions. So how can you compare? lol.

Give the Heismon to the man who put up the best numbers against the best competition. Its a no brainer. Palmer deserves it. If Johnson rushed for 2000 yards with USC schedule and had USC record, then i would give it to Johnson over Palmer! So I am not just pumping up Palmer because i am a huge USC fan.

As for Banks and Palmer, watch the Orange Bowl and you will know who is the better QB!

Larry Johnson is an awesome player, wish he was a Trojan. BUT i do not think he is Heismon Trophy winner. If he rushed over 100 yards against the top

curiously though--where doe they award the HeismOn? see, cuz the A button is way over here on the left, whereas the O button is way over there on the right. hey, i'm jus goofin here pal dont stress it. here i am at work--with no money on the outcome of who wins--and not even bein able to find out who wins on this here computer--and hope you make out on your wager. least then some kinda good might come of it---on top of dorsey not gettin it that is.

you were WAYYYYYYY right; i dunno what i was thinkin-->I WASNT OBVIOUSLY! I stand corrected!

heres the tidbit that made the distinction for me:
jus for the hell of it... here goes...
banks steps in, FIRST year and leads a team--of persons who were expected to goe nowhere, and do nothing and propels them to a ONE LOSS season. Palmer--when debuting, awhile back--soo far gone actually, it escapes memory (this is where you extract some obscure date and stat line) and does well...then with some injuries and coaching changes muddles through average at best, seasons against what some might say superior competition. lemme tell ya--everyone faces stiff competition--even your "real" would be heismOn winner--if only he were wearing a trojan uniform> l. johnson penn st hb (though as you say, he faltered when pinned against stiffer opponents-no argument there) then--and only then, after learning from having made the multitude of errors --does this phoenix that is Carson Palmer--USC trojan quarterback extrodinaire!--RISSSSE UPPP!-can i get an amen?!--from the ashes and throttles touchdown jesus ND! shame on me!

Glad Palmer is now the 5th Heismon Trophy winner for USC! And thanks Palmer for winning me some serious $$$!

Glad Banks finished 2nd, he deserved it, and also glad Dorsey finished 5th, he deserved that too!

Congrats to CARSON PALMER, and kudos to those who thought he was deserving. A turnaround season and career year for sure. Amazing that he won all but one voting region, but that's what the national spotlight will do in a whuppin' of Notre Dame and a big win over rival UCLA. Having watched several USC games this yr, I can say I am impressed by his composure and leadership abilities. He's a cool customer and maintains grounded. CP and the Trojans have had an amazing year and deserve to be in a BCS bowl. :) Nice to have the Heisman come back to the West Coast. ;)
