an unopened bottle of Crown Royal.

Unfortunately, Nole and Mrs Nole and kids have had to move recently. In the process, I found a still factory sealed bottle of Moet and Chandon Champagne and the year is 1993. Still in the green box, seal not broken.

The other(had to be a gift), a bottle of Crown Royal dated 1958! Factory sealed as well.

If you could give me your .02.

Is the champagne still good? What about the Crown? Such discipline not opening a bottle of Crown that's 51 years old!

No clue if either 2 are worth anything except regualr price?

Just curious. I may bring the Moet to the Belterra outing. Winning team gets soaked in 16 year old champagne! :mj07:

The Crown bottle is a little different from today's standard .750 bottle and the label is a bit different.

Thanks to those that respond.

Unless stored properly to keep the cork moist, the champagne is more than likely bad. For that period of time, you would have had to rotate the bottle to keep the cork good.

The crown is possibly still good if there was a good seal on the cap. You can tell this by whether or not the bottle still looks full. Alcohol can evaporape off over time, so the bottle won't be full even though the cap seal has not been broken.

I'll share one with you rip! Texas is a fine state.

Bummer you can't make it. I would like to meet you as well and down a few Crowns.

My goal this go-round, don't break any glasses at the bar! :mj07:

Mrs Nole will take care of me.

Travel safe!

If it's the same one the champagne is selling b/w 350-450$

http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&safe=off&q=Moet & Chandon 1993&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wf

i found a lot of people specifically asking about the '58 crown value with no answers. there were a lot of people asking so maybe they released a lot of that year as a gift sort of thing which makes me think the value isn't as high....but i bet it's damn tasty

The bottle I have is the "a Epernay". $187.00! I may have to reconsider popping the cork on the winners!

Thanks very much saint.

Thanks very much for caring sports. I'll contact Jack asap. Weird it has to be disposed of in Maine.

Nole, do you ever read and respond to email anymore? There is also a disposal area for your bottle of Crown in Western PA, funny but I think it would be cheaper to ship it here.

I bought a vintage 1950s bottle of Crown for the Madjack Superbowl party some years ago, couldnt remember the exact year but it was a treat.

Once the crown is bottled, unless there is some evaporation the liquor doesnt age any further. This is because there is no interaction between the glass and the alcohol, no active ingredients for any further fermentation.

I believe the bottle was opened and finished within an hour to an hour and a half. Good to have plenty of people around when you crack open a nice blend from half a century ago.

Actually, thinking back, it might have been the same year that MJ had a nickel on Alstott to score the 1st TD and he won! Good times.
