Help with a new website

I am trying to design a website for the new business and am getting the domain name today.

I am not asking anyone to do it for me but if anyone has any experience and doesn't mind providing some guidance on this i would greatly appreciate any assistance. :0008

Don't know about designing but make sure you register & own the domain name under your name. Some companies that build will set up your site but register the domain name under there biz and you're at their mercy and it's a bitch to get it switched over (been there) :0008

Wordpress has a pretty simple Control Panel for updating a website which may be good for you if you will be the one changing information on the site.

Remember this is very basic. I have designed two websites using Wordpress specifically because the end user wanted to have control on content daily. Poke around and see if it is something you think you could do

There are a plethora of videos on creating the website in wordpress El Guapo - The one above talks about from purchase to page which most computer nerds tend to leave out

If you haven't got the domain name yet 1&1 has them on sale for 99 cents for the rest of the day. It's pretty simple to do it with a template. If you want a fancy one with all of the bells and whistles I would recommend hiring a programmer that knows html and java. You can find one easily at elance.com. I have done many and could work as a web developer if I wanted to, but I choose not to. I'd rather do sales, web programming is a pain in the ass and monotonous.

Yeah, I went ahead and did the goDaddy thing and what a pain in the ass.




I did get the domain name I wanted. www.itsyourfloors.com I uploaded some photos and what not and godaddy also is easy to use google ads with and such but I suck at this crap. for instance I have no idea how to crop my logo onto my background picture. ughhhhh!!!:scared

Heres an old questionnaire to get an idea of the work you'll have to do. The good thing is its all in your head so just start writing it down pen and paper. I found that is easier for the non tech types than key strokes.

cameras today make it easy to capture ideas on paper.
