again. Guy on death row in California convicted of tieing belt around young ladies throat--beating her head to pulp with hammer--stabbing her and raping her was given stay of executionby U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel because he felt lethal injection "might" cause convicted man discomfort. Cheez--fortuntely CA citizens have taken 1st step in controling these judges by getting enough signatures to bring Jessica's law to vote--at least the pedaphiles will have something to worry about.

Killer?s Death May Be Halted

California must either scrap plans to execute Michael Angelo Morales next week or change the way it will put the condemned inmate to death, a federal judge ruled Tuesday. U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel of San Jose, responding to a defense challenge that the state's method of carrying out lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment, gave state authorities the option of defending their current procedure in a two-day court hearing.

Jessica?s Law Gets Big Boost For Ballot

Supporters of the Jessica's Law sex-crimes initiative said Tuesday that they have collected more than enough signatures to qualify the measure for the November ballot. The proponents' campaign plans to turn in more than 550,000 signatures to county elections offices Friday and Tuesday, well above the 374,000 valid signatures required. The campaign recently stopped collecting signatures, consultant Dave Gilliard said.

Sex Predator Debate Heats Up

Politicians took a special interest Tuesday in what is emerging as one of the most politically charged election-year debates: how to protect the public from sexual predators. The day began with proponents of Jessica's Law, a Republican-backed measure calling for stiff penalties and expensive satellite monitoring of pedophiles, announcing they have enough signatures to place the initiative on the November ballot

"the bunker"
another legal fiasco...

giving this monster a needle is cruel and unusual....

but, letting a poor, innocent woman dehydrate for two weeks is humane?.....

whats cruel and unusual is letting this steaming pile of dog squeeze live an extra 20 years....not to mention having the ability to gum up the legal system with appeal after appeal...

our justice system cares little to nothing for victims...inept as it is...

What happen? No doc will give injection is that true? Or at least one that was assigned to do it? So Judge had no choice but to delay matter? Is this correct? Sounds like he's still going to die soon. I guess delay has been over 20 years. Another week or two don't matter. What we should be screaming about is why over 20 years this has been going on. We need that corrected across the nation. It's just not going on in Calf.

I'd be in favor of getting rid of the death penalty for the simple fact that it's too damn expensive. Put these assholes to work for the rest of their lives. At least that way society gets some kind of benefit from their sorry asses.

Actually, that is kind of an interesting idea. I hear there's some odd jobs that could be done in the Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama areas.

If you took some of the ideas that are offhandedly tossed around in this forum (both sides) there could be an interesting party platform produced...
