Heres a little proof of why its worth buying the hook.

Using a sample size of 20 bets in basketball where the hook is involved betting 55 and juiced to 60. Say if your a 55 % capper and you go 11-9 your only losing $45 in juice from buying the hook. You only need 1 push to make up for that.

As tight as these numbers a lot times the hook comes into play during these games.

As many pushes that I've had the past month from buying off the hook. I know it well worth it.

What about giving up 1 point every game?

Now, instead of laying -110 you are catching +105 or so.

I'll bet far more games win or lose by more than a point over the spread, than don't.

Big believer in buying the hook in football off key numbers like 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, etc. However, it has to make sense. I also like to buy off 7 whenever I only have to pay 20% vig. Most books charge a premium on 3. I'll buy from 4 to 3 if it makes sense or 6 to 7, etc. 3 & 7 are the most key numbers in football.

Also, I think buying points on totals is not very bright ever.

In hoops, always buy around low key numbers. Last night, Lakers were -2 and I bought to -1.5 and won. You have to be smart on when and when not to buy the half-point, etc.

At heritage it worth buying on totals, you only pay -116. I saves 110 last night on the Hawks total that was 191.5. I got a push instead that save me 110 I would have lost.
