Check the status of Smith.
No Smith.
No dice. :nono:

Here is the problem even if Smith plays.

Steve Smith is a headcase and is just as probable to get two personal fouls for fighting as he is to score touchdowns.

Smith is old past his prime.

Smith is a pussychops. If he gets hit in the knee and has not been playing well , he is going down aka vick and not going to be embarressed or put a possible new contract in harms way.

Smith is 6 ft tall or less. Cams passes are thrown about 8 ft most of the time.

Panthers have flown below the radar all year. In all honesty they should have won their 1st two games of the season and likely should be 14-2.

I'm on board with you Jack. SF barely got by what I think was an over-rated, mediocre GB team. I love playing teams with value- and the public (and books accordingly) over react to the most recent game instead of looking at the entire body. Panthers have the speed to contain Kap, unlike GB which is where he did the most damage.

San Fran barely got by a home GB team in the worst type weather, but they found a way to win.

You say the public overreacts to most recent games.

All I have to do is think about Carolina going into Atlanta and winning 21-20

The Panthers played a horrible game . Cam refused to run at all. Cam threw passes way too high
for anyone except a giant.

It was a pitiful performance late in the year for a playoff bound year.

I won alot of money with Cam at Auburn. He was unstoppable then. I do not like what I see
from him.

And I say in the playoffs it dont matter home field advantage.

San Francisco has the better team and will show it come Sunday

I wasn't going to bet anymore this year but things change with an opportunity like this one. I spent a good amount of time looking at this game and I'm done looking because I'm not changing my mind. I'm all for opposing opinions posted in this thread but I highly doubt you can change my mind. If you can change my mind and you save me a lot of money, kudos to you, because I am unloading.

Panthers beat them in SF. I don't buy the revenge angle.
This is SF 3rd away game in a row. Coast to coast trip yet.
CAR home.
CAR 7-1 at home.
CAR bye week plenty of rest.
SF off tough physical game.
CAR allows 15ppg and SF 20ppg.
CAR only allows 86 rushing per game, SF allows 124.

This is the type game where the best defense wins and with CAR at home, with rest, with the place rocking, and SF on their 3rd road trip in a row after the tough game yesterday, I can't see the 49ers coming away with a win. Not to mention the Panthers really should be a 3 point fave here and will be getting a point or 2. Yeah, SF has won 7 in a row but CAR has won 9 of the last 10 with the only loss coming @NO. You like fading the public? This will be a great spot to do so because everybody and their mother will be taking the 49ers especially after yesterday's win.

I don't think the 9ers have a chance and I had quit betting for the year but I am definitely reloading and taking the Panthers in another all in bet to win this one.

I'm waiting to bet because if Auburn covers tonight I get 3rd place in the College Bowl Contest and that will save me from reloading with my own funds.

Good luck!

Like it! 49ers dont have a chance playing it very big!

Relevant lil blurb copy/pasted from elsewhere

"Colin Kaepernick has shredded below-average defenses this year (9-0 record, 18 TDs, zero interceptions), but struggled against the league's stouter units (3-4 record, seven TDs, eight interceptions). He had the worst game of his NFL career in a 10-9 home loss to the Panthers in mid-November. The Carolina defense sacked Kaepernick six times and held him to just 107 total yards (91 passing, 16 rushing). "

Let's get it good luck

SF also was without Crabtree who has been a big help in passing, and that was the game Vernon Davis left early with an injury. Basically limiting the SF passing game to Quan. Totally different from today.

Im not going to overthink this game. Both solid defensive teams with strong run defense. I don't see a 100 yard RB today. Pick the QB who will have a better game (running and passing) and avoid turnovers. That's what will decide this one. Just pick your pony. Kap or Cam?

Also, you can bank on some terrific game changing special teams play. Because, that's what gamblers like, randomness and (un)lucky bounces.

I gotta admit, when I saw you going to the "GOY" tag, I thought, "Oh oh, Jack sounds desperate". Obviously, your thoughtful analysis shows this not to be the case. Kinda.

I totally concur with you on this one, boss. Excellent work. Your thread and ones like it continue to convince me that this is without a doubt the most valuable site available to us players. And it has been for a long, long time.

Thank your lucky stars, fellas. Jack's place is "the" place for sports handicapping. Every shred of pertinant information is here somewhere. It is such a time-saver. And the price remains very affordable.

The other game is tough, but Jack, I think you've nailed this one. Much obliged.

Jack please

Jack please

I still think we're on the right side, but I'm making the move from Bud to Jack a little sooner than planned. Deep breaths, Jack. We're OK

Bartender! Jack, please.
