?????....how can you put a plan out there without taking such a large voting block into consideration?...

doesn`t herman realize that somebody on the left is going to figure this out eventually?.......

c`mon man....

there are only two people in the field that have a remote chance of handling obama(and the msm) in a debate format...and they are romney and newt....

if we don`t wake up and relize it`s more importnat to get rid of obama than to demonize our own guys for one reason or another,we`ll lose again...we`ll implode...

For the past three years it has been an act of racism to disagree with a person of color running for or holding the office of president. What's changed?
Nothing's changed. But you haven't provided any evidence of racism directed at Cain from the left.

On the other hand, the racism directed at Obama from the right over the past 3 years is well documented.

For example, until a nationally syndicated radio talk show host on the left begins playing a song titled "Herman the Magic Negro" on his show everyday, it may be difficult to make your case.

My question is this:

If the right is really racist, why have they NOT started to attack Cain?

Perhaps it really has nothing to do with race and they just do not like O's policies....?

Just thinking out loud here. I am pretty color-blind - but it seems to be a pervading theme in this forum

I don't see racism as being the reason most people are disgusted with Obama. Hell, we voted for him. Now, he did not get the job done. He gave us more of the failed Bush policies. He kept the tax cuts for the wealthy. He kept the wars going. A total waste of time. That has nothing to do with race.

Question about 9-9-9 Plan:

Is the 9% Federal Sales Tax on top of the State Sales Tax or is it in place of it?

on top of the state sales tax...the feds have nothing to do with what sales taxes a state levies...
this thing will collapse under closer scrutiny...

what it does is redistribute the tax burden to lower income folks and cut the higher income people a break....

some would say that everyone should have skin in the game....i get that.......but i seriously doubt that lower income and retired voters will go along with this come election time.....

gives the dems more ammunition for their class warfare meme and imo,i think it will stick.....

bad,bad idea...i don`t think cain`s all that sharp,truthfully...

Cain is a snake oil salesman. As Weasle said earlier the plan is too simple. Too many loopholes for the corporations. Although they really wouldn't be loopholes because without regulations, another big Cain idea, the corporations would be running wild.

This guy is very dangerous.

Phase 2 of the 999 plan morphs it into the Fairtax.

Here is a calculator for the Fairtax.

http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer?pagename=calculator

The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll based taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a prebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes on spending up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar federal revenue neutrality, and, through companion legislation, the repeal of the 16th Amendment.

The FairTax Act (HR 25, S 13) is nonpartisan legislation. It abolishes all federal personal and corporate income taxes, gift, estate, capital gains, alternative minimum, Social Security, Medicare, and self-employment taxes and replaces them with one simple, visible, federal retail sales tax administered primarily by existing state sales tax authorities.

The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn. The FairTax is a fair, efficient, transparent, and intelligent solution to the frustration and inequity of our current tax system.

exactly...and this redistributes the tax burden off the wealthy and onto lower and middle income people...

and btw,how do you fund medicare and social security?....if you abolish those taxes, how do you make up that enormous deficit?.....i doubt a fair tax will be enough to cover it along with everything else if you don`t cut spending drastically.........

if you know me,you know i`m no democrat...i`m a staunch conservative....i`d love to simplify the tax plan...but the truth is,it`s all useless if we don`t get spending under control....

it can morph into a fair tax...it can also morph into 10-10-10 or 14-14-14......you`d need a constitutional amendment to keep big government from abusing cain`s plan........

Do you see the part in the paragraph that I emboldened?

Spend some time on the Fairtax website if you would like to learn more.

The FairTax:

Enables workers to keep their entire paychecks
Enables retirees to keep their entire pensions
Refunds in advance the tax on purchases of basic necessities
Allows American products to compete fairly Brings transparency and accountability to tax policy
Ensures Social Security and Medicare funding
Closes all loopholes and brings fairness to taxation
Abolishes the IRS

Ok so just off the top of my head I found a big lie on the website. Explain how Taxes are keeping corporations from making products in America? They have cheap labor in these third world countries that are making our products. They don't pay taxes or pay very little, on those products coming into the country making it impossible for the American worker to compete.

And how did this piece of work become Cains 999 plan. It aint the same thing.

here is a link to his 999 plan. After PHASE 1, you will see a PHASE 2.

Here is PHASE 2:
Phase 2 ? The Fair Tax

Amidst a backdrop of the economic boom created by the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
The Fair Tax would ultimately replace individual and corporate income taxes.
It would make it possible to end the IRS as we know it.
The Fair Tax makes our exported goods and services the most competitively internationally than any other tax system.

Our problem is imported goods not exported. It is cheaper to make a PC in Korea and import it to the us than it is to build it here. That is why American Companies have sold us out and are manufacturing over seas. I do not see how an export tax fits into our problems.

Now a tariff would help by making it cheaper for the corporation to make it here than to import it in from another country. It is clear we have to force these guys to create the jobs here. No matter what kind of tax breaks we give them.

last time i checked, the middle class didn`t qualify as "below poverty level"....

"enables retirees to keep their entire pensions".....well that`s just peachy...they`ve already been taxed on their earnings....and their dividends.....

why the hell not slap another onerous tax on their butts when they spend what`s left?...

a pipe dream.....what we need are specific breaks for businesses so we can bring jobs back from overseas...and to rollback all these smothering regulations....

and that idiot bloomberg needs to stamp out these wall street protestors...they`re sleeping and shitting on the public thoroughfares..you`re supposed to get a f-cking permit....businesses in close proximity are suffering greatly....i hate bloomberg with a passion...

btw...gingrich is now #3 in several high profile polls....maybe the public is waking up...

Tax beaks won't do jack for business. No business will expand until there is more demand for their product. US corps are sitting on tons of cash right now; give them more tax breaks and they'll just sit on more.

We need more people working, earning and spending. Until the economy recovers, we can create WPA style jobs. If necessary, we can fund them with collections from import duties.

Free trade agreements suck. Free trade just improves the economies of low wage countries and damages the economies of high wage countries.

TRENDING: Anita Perry blames Obama for son's job loss

? Rick Perry's wife Anita said Friday that she could sympathize with the plight of the unemployed because her son was forced to resign his job to take a more active role on his father's presidential campaign.

Anita Perry blamed the Obama administration for her son having to resign his position.

"My son had to resign his job because of federal regulations that Washington has put on us," Mrs. Perry said while campaigning for her husband in South Carolina, after a voter shared the story of losing his job.

"He resigned his job two weeks ago because he can't go out and campaign with his father because of SEC regulations," she continued, referring to the Securities and Exchange Commission. "He has a wife... he's trying to start a business. So I can empathize."

"My son lost his job because of this administration," she said a few minutes later.
