Rick Perry flubbed both the country's voting age and the date of the upcoming presidential election at a speech to a group of college students in Manchester Tuesday.

The Texas governor told students in the audience he'd appreciate their vote if they were turning 21 by Nov. 12.

But the United States' voting age is 18, and voters will weigh in on the presidential election on Nov. 6.

A few members of the audience giggled but Perry did not appear to notice his error.

Cain can take Perry with him

wow just wow......:SIB

 unbelievable how dumb these candidates have been. I'm still not getting over Cain thinking China was "pursuing nukes", but Perry ....good lord, the presidency was his.... - again - to texans - how was he ever elected to anything? the man seriously knows ....NOTHING.????

No one knew him a year ago. He is a talk show hosts and speaker.

He will not drop out of this race. He is in it for the big bucks to follow all this when he can cash in on the notoriety.

pity really

A leading religious conservative warned Newt Gingrich Wednesday that he risks losing the support of evangelical women voters if the Republican presidential hopeful refuses to publicly address his "turbulent martial history."

"Mr. Speaker, if you want to get large numbers of evangelicals, particularly women, to vote for you, you must address the issue of your marital past in a way that allays the fears of evangelical women," Richard Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, said in an open letter to the former House speaker. "You must address this issue of your marital past directly and transparently and ask folks to forgive you and give you their trust and their vote."

Mr. Gingrich's marital troubles, including two divorces have cast a shadow over his political career and presidential campaign, leaving many to wonder whether he can win over social conservatives in the nomination contest, which kicks off in Iowa where evangelicals play a major role.

Two of the Georgia Republicans three marriages are said to have fallen apart thanks to Mr. Gingrich's extramarital activity. Mr. Gingrich has acknowledged cheating on one of them, with his current wife, Callista, while he served as speaker and pushed for the impeachment of President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair in the late 1990s.

In a March interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Mr. Gingrich touched on his marriage problems, saying he had sought "God's forgiveness" for his actions.

"There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate," Mr. Gingrich said.

"What I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn't trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them," he said. "I found that I felt compelled to seek God's forgiveness ? not God's understanding, but God's forgiveness."

"You need to make it as clear as you possibly can that you deeply regret your past actions and that you do understand the anguish and suffering they caused others including your former spouses," Mr. Land wrote. "Make it as clear as you can that you have apologized for the hurt your actions caused and that you have learned from your past misdeeds. Express your love for, and loyalty to, your wife and your commitment to your marriage. Promise your fellow Americans that if they are generous enough to trust you with the presidency, you will not let them down and that there will be no moral scandals in a Gingrich White House."

I think Newt prefers the term, "furrburger".

Duff - since you're rich, can ya spot me a few million so I can run for office?

It's a good bet as I am guaranteed to become a multimillionaire if I win

Gingrich, who made most of his money after he left Congress, is worth between $7.1 million and $31 million, according to a tally of his assets and liabilities. He made between $2.6 million and $2.8 million in the reporting period (from 2010 through July 2011 when he filed the disclosure).
..........................................................................

Romney is certainly easy to caricature as the 1 percent -- a scion corporate executive with a net worth estimated to be between $190 million and $250 million.

.,.....................................................................

why would these two be the choice for the GOP ?

money begets money. Stay to their own so no one
gets hurt.

Newt may get the nomination but he will never be President.

President Obama will be re-elected if Newt is the nominee.

If these Republican candidates are the best the GOP has to offer as potential leader that party is doomed. They have called a huge voting bloc ?Un-American?, ?Dangerous?, ?Ignorant? and Mr. Gingrich told them to get a job and take a bath.

Mr. Cain insulted the new largest minority group by saying he would build an electric fence on the southern border.

Rep. Bachman the family woman would think twice to ripping a family apart. Not to mention Congressional Republicans have been a complete failure in leadership. They were voted into power in the House to improve things. They have not passed a single piece of legislation that they can point to and say see we helped with the Recovery. They have not helped a single American keep their home. They have not passed a bill that helped open a new business or prevent one from closing. I am in my new home because of President Obama. The auto and banking industries did not collapse because of President Obama?.What have Republicans done? Because of the ineptness of the GOP candidates and the complete failure to do their jobs in Congress. The Republicans will not win the White House they will lose control of the House and seats in the Senate including Mass.

Let's look at how did Herman did in his speech today.

Typical Republican Behavior Checklist:

Whining? Check.

Blaming everybody else? Check.

Lying with conviction and enthusiasm? Check.

Asking for more money from his sucker sheep? Check.

Saying God was on his side? Check.

Whimpering and blubbering like Glenn Beck with his mascara streaming all down his cheeks? Hard to say with those eye-hiding sunglasses on.

All in all...not too shabby.

Herman's wife on seeing him for the first time in 2 months, must have said something like this :

you are embarressing me and our family terribly.

stop this mess , stop it right now or I am leaving you immediately .

sounds about right......

I figuerd Cain's conversation with his wife was more like:

Herman: "Now, Baby, you can't be listening to all them white wimmin'.

"I was listening to a white woman just yesterday."

"Who was that?"

"Lorena Bobbitt."
