Later word this morning is that coalition forces have found a stash of what could well be chemical weapons south of Baghdad. There are reportedly vials of what looks like anthrax powder.

That brings us to Saddam?s pal, Jacques Chirac. Chirac has said that if the U.S. led coalition forces find any chemical weapons in Iraq, France is going to assume that these weapons were planted there by U.S. operatives. Now, let?s see how long it takes Hussein?s buddy to actually make that charge in the French press.

i think

i think

they are saying that it`s not wmd`s.....what i heard is that they feel after they topple saddam, and the scientists are no longer afraid to come forward, the dam will break....there is some feeling that some of the weapons may have been shipped to syria via the mobile labs....i doubt that they`ll use wmd`s.....that would pretty much justify coalition actions....let`s hope saddam is not that stupid....we`ll uncover some of this stuff and the people involved....it may take some time,though...

I hope we can topple him before he launches the Chemicals.

It seems odd that Al Jazeria (sp) has been banned from Bagdad.

I fear that the banning of cameras is to remove evidence of Iraqs launching of chemicals. I can see it now "chemicals launched due to American bombing raid". If there are no cameras to shoot the landscape then how will we know where the gas/powder/etc.... comes from.

Al jazeera has been banned from several of the more radical arab countries for being "too sympathetic to the Zionist cause".

They attempt to be an independent voice in the Arab world.

A lot of people mistake Aljazeera for a state run TV, like Iraqi state TV. CNN has widely used AlJazeera resources and sources in the current war. Al Jazeera is based in Qatar, and agreed to be based there only if there was no government interference in their content.

That being said I agree that it would seem to be in Iraq's best interest to have an independent Arab media presence in the next few weeks....

not if they`re planning

not if they`re planning

something horrific....that they don`t want seen...like maybe gassing or killing some of their own....and blaming it on the coalition......i think that if wmd`s are used,it might be to try and frame the coalition.....world opinion is saddam`s only hope....we`ve seen the arab media...they aren`t pro-zionist...that`s a joke....headlines in arab papers like"u.s. soldiers rob iraqi citizens".......anybody that thinks u.s. soldiers are yoking arab citizens needs a solid dose of objectivity....that`s so silly it`s absurd...yet,the arab world is buying into it...just like they believe the jews perpetrated 9/11.....that`s the sort of blatant b.s. that you get from failed societies....that goes unchecked from state run media...
