geez, zaga or memphis first? It all depends on the draw...they are both so soft defensively that neither set up to be a major factor in the usually defensive-minded tournament...

I have notice the past few years.........the teams that can score quick have had better tourney success..........the really stifling defensive team have not done as well, ...........Just an observation.......

2005...........UNC
2004...........Uconn
2003.......Syracuse
2002.......Maryland
2001.......Duke
2000.......Michigan State

all of these teams could play some defense at times but all of them could run and play at a fast pace...............just got me thinking maybe the 2 most important stats are scoring and rebounding and not opponents shooting pct.......

Cant argue with UNC or Cuse but Maryland in 02 was very good defensively AND there was NO BETTER defenses that UCONN in 04 and same is with Duke in 02
So maybe your correct, but this list doesnt prove it. Definitely something interesting to consider

"I feel like if we just go out there and play our ball and run and rebound and crash the offensive boards, we're going to beat them," Williams said. "Probably by 20." (Shawn Williams)
