First, this outcome didn't need to happen this way.....Many people were saved and evacuated, many people have also been placed is harms way.....
The Exit Strategy was Biden's and Biden's alone....He had the option to continue or change any plan with the intelligence he had at hand....Say what you want, a plan put together in late 2020 can/will change as intel dictates....What happened over the last week is not on Trump, Biden and his staff had the keys and the intel----not Trump....Dems need to OWN it... If Trump had gone down this path all hell would be breaking out in the media.
Taking out US Troupes before all US Civilians and Afghan Support were out of the country....
Not being in contact with out NATO Alliances Members before "Our" withdrawal....
Allowing the Taliban to dictate our exit date and not extend it....
There are more but I'll leave it at this for now....There are NO winners here WHN, lives have been lost and others lives have been changed forever....I can't imagine what they are going through right now. This was a major FU imho.... :facepalm:

Sportsaholic: I understand that's your opinion, but I don't get how we could safely evacuate all our US personnel and the Afghan support without those that felt vulnerable/desperate behaving exactly how they are right now. Same military would have been doing this in May under the last guy. As soon as you start pulling people out, the people in that country are going to react. There's no secretly pulling 70,000+ out of a country. As shitty as this is, we created this situation through bad policy and blaming the military and President at the time when you finally cut bait on this debacle isn't right.
WHN I don't have all the intel as do others....I do see our Allies are not happy with what has transpired....I do know the US is the the most powerful country with intelligence, planning and fire power....We have the will and power to over come anything we set our minds to....
Biden is in charge with the keys right now not Trump, this is 100% on him and his cabinet...This is his decision on the direction of our country, right or wrong....Our Allies don't seem impressed with how we have backed down over the last week plus, count me in as well....I assume you're fine with all of this...:shrug:

Go reread my posts. When you can't defend your stance on failed policy, you whip out the old question card. I've answered your inquiry over and over. That tactic is getting old,because you have to use it so much. Everybody knows we have disagreements. Name them...jeesh
The country is in the middle of a civil war that someone else put us in the middle of as part of bad policy. Getting out isn't easy but it needs to happen. If you think evacuating tens of thousands of people out of a war zone would be easy, you're just not playing with a full deck. We've got the best military on the planet, and they are struggling.
