Because they are in the middle of a civil war where the local government and military QUIT. Why? Because they didn't want our help. They played along with our nation building, spreading democracy fallacy until we said we were leaving......then reality set in and they handed it over to the Taliban. This was inevitable. Staying there to prevent this from eventually happening is asinine.

Failed policy. Of course they hate us. Look at the civilian casualties over the 20 years. Look at how they reacted when we started to leave. We decided to go in there and fix everything, now we get to deal with it. Should have left YEARS ago.
More than a decade. Bush and Obama weren't willing to accept the failure. Trump was going to do it but ran out of time. Biden did it. He could have taken the safe way out and just kept throwing more money down the toilet.....but he didn't.
