Earlier this month, for instance, the former president sidestepped a question on whether Obama was prepared for the White House. "You could argue that no one's ever ready to be president," Clinton told ABC News.

this is why DTB's concern over experience is just a croc of polucky.

Its not experience. Its the ability to make good decisions using the brilliant people you have around you.

Its not experience. Its loyalty to the American people and keeping their interests first and foremost.

Its not experience. Its working hard every day to make the American economy stronger.

Its not experience. Its being able to talk to world leaders no matter what their ideals and politics are.

Its not experience. Its.................

Dont you get it DTB ?

Tony Robbins come one at #3am Scott tune in.

--a little no nonsense real life experiment if you would Scott.

Go apply for a job and tell them all the above--and see what they tell you. Would venture a guess they might want to know your experience and qualifications--ya think :)

I guess I'm guilty guilty mr B --as per family backround I certainly would think his would qualify him much more than --without going into details--than------

but you know what they say--we tend vote for who we can identify with ;)

please go into detail. for the record my dad was my best friend until his last day in 2004... I don't identify with Obama or Mccain, I'm just voting for the smarter and self made man. I don't know about you but I could not marry for money and take orders from my wifes daddy. Maybe you can identify with that.

Obamas father was out of the picture early but he was raised by his mother and her parents. They did a great job. There is nothing wrong with his family back ground that he had control over. I would have to say that his life with his wife and children is more of an example of family values than Mccain and his wives.

Well Bill Clinton says Obama is completely qualified and explained it point by point.

And I know you respect what Billy has to say.

Yep Scott also heard your media-Bill and O claim about 90's being greatest economic boom ever--but failed to mention it was because of the boom in dot.coms but somehow didn't want to take credit for the bust that came at end and continued. Not that either was do to anything Bill did or could have done--appears they don't want to note 911 factor either-or take admit to what looking otherway after 1st hit on our soil cost.

Economies generally are products of circumstances outside admistration controls--and appears this GW's 8 years will give next Pres similiar situation Clinton gave this admin.

The only diff is how media/and both political parties want to represent it.

Clinton can say -I had best economy ever--or submit to facts below and admit he left with economy in midst of 10th worse recession of all time.

Obama's BIG Mistake
Wednesday, August 27, 2008

By Susan Estrich

When I turned on my computer this morning, it was overflowing with email from women who supported Hillary Clinton. And still do.

After her electrifying speech Tuesday night, they were more certain than ever that they were right in their choice, that she was ? as is ? more qualified to be President than Barack Obama, and certainly a better choice for Vice President than the one Obama made. And that certainty made them even angrier at what they perceive as Obama's slights towards Senator Clinton, his failure to vet her or call her or reach out to her donors and supporters.

Will they ultimately vote for Obama-Biden anyway?

Maybe. Some of them will and some of them won't. Some of them, by the time November rolls around, will convince themselves that the war and Roe v. Wade and global warming are all more important than being right and getting your first choice; that as between the risks of Obama and the risks of McCain, the latter are greater than the former. And some of them, frankly, if you take account of the intensity of the e-mail messages, are ready to vote for McCain and start working for Hillary in 2012. Right now.

However they end up voting, the bottom line is that this Convention is not ?working? the way it's supposed to for Barack Obama. What he wanted ? and what he needed, at the very least ? was a celebration of his nomination, an introduction to the country that would convince them that Harvard Law School and bestselling books, a fancy house and Ivy League wife notwithstanding, he understands the problems of average Americans of every race, and has specific plans and the necessary experience to solve them. That was what John Kerry tried to do four years ago in Boston. Most Democrats left that Convention convinced that he had. But in retrospect, even that wasn't enough.

What happened the last time around ? even after a unified and feel-good Convention which reassured most Democrats (and there weren't many doubters to begin with) that they had nominated the right candidate and had the right ticket, and a Convention which, in the old-fashioned way, united the top two vote-getters from the primary season and left both sets of supporters feeling like winners ? was that the Republicans got the better of he Democrats. The Democrats tried to make the case for Kerry-Edwards. The Republicans spent their time making the case against John Kerry. Everybody says they hate negative ads, and the Republican convention was nothing if not a four day negative ad. But as we learn time and again, no matter what people say about negative ads, good ones work.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice?

Democrats might not be united behind Barack Obama, but they are certainly united in what they think about George Bush and the GOP. What Obama needed in this convention was an effective assault on George Bush and John McCain, an argument, repeated over and over again ? the way negative ads have to be in order to work ? about why McCain was wrong, why he was tied to the high gas prices and faltering economy and failing war and mounting foreclosures and ridiculous health care bills that the majority of Americans are most concerned with. That message has been heard on occasion, but it has not been the message of this Convention. Not even close.

The story coming out of this Convention is not Obama v. McCain, much less the follies of McCain and Bush, but Clinton v. Obama. That was inevitable once the schedule was set, probably inevitable once the Obama team decided they didn't have to take on Hillary's debt and didn't have to treat her with kid gloved respect with which winners usually treat losers who have a lot of delegates. They didn't reach out to her delegates and donors and make them feel like they were important. As late as a week before the Convention, Barack Obama himself was saying that they were dealing with Hillary's top staff, not her supporters. Big mistake. Almost as big as thinking you can control Bill Clinton. It is nothing short of unbelievable to me that they thought, until Monday, that they could tell Bill Clinton what to say. Why would he listen? How could they even think that he would? What does he owe them?

And so it goes. The McCain campaign, which was sort of a mess a month or so ago, rudder-less and message-less and slow to respond, is not a mess anymore. The ads demeaning Barack Obama as a mere celebrity, a rock star and not a leader, have effectively undercut even his supporters' confidence in the wisdom of putting on a rock concert on Thursday night, complete with Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. And Barack. If Barack Obama could have moved his acceptance speech to a school auditorium or a factory floor, that would have been great. Turning it into a rock concert is not so great. He doesn't need to look like a guy who can hold a crowd of 70,000. Everyone knows that. The question is whether that's all he can do. The McCain people are spinning that Obama will come out of the Convention with a fifteen-point lead. They know full well that there is no chance of that. The only question is whether he'll come out with any significant lead at all, and how long it will take the Republicans who convene next week in the Twin Cities to slash into it. Because of this I am sure: slash they will. They're good at it.

this chip on her shoulder thing is a sexist perception, & even a racist perceptiion for some... I'm not saying you are either of these but.....she is a smart in your face woman that does not settle and keeps on reaching... very determined & tough... most men can't handle this... the world is changing, woman have proved, given the chance, they can compete with men.... If mccain was smart he would pick a woman for his VP... I hope he doesn't.... Because she has had a wonderfull life, what do you suggest ? what do you want her to do ??? how would you want her to act ??? I guess she should just be subservient and happy for all the advantages including that ivy education she EARNED. She has had a wounderful life because of her inner strenght, her tenacity and the support of her loving family.

DTB: Nobody knows the trouble I see, nobody knows my sorrow. Obamas new theme song.
My thought is that obama was like a brand new shiny nickel before the convention in a few days he will be worth about 2 cents when the GOP gets through with him. Another shock and awe tactic orchestrated by our corporate leaders. They want come out and say it,but he's black, and GOD knows they think it.This is what we will hear in the next two months. He's to young and black,he's unqualified and black,he can give a great speech and he's black and he will raise your taxes,by the way did we mention he's black.

home values kept americans spending...
you can spin the #'s any way you want.... Fact: the economy for the average american was far better under clinton... the last eight years have been the worst for americans since the carter days.... I didn't vote for clinton but I think most americans would have taken 8 more years of bill instead of the last eight of 43. Clinton has to take some responsibility for 911...but not what happened after 911....Bush just closed down on the domestic front and went nation building.... Our country started to relax our home security after reagan left office and we paid for it.. The non existence of leadership on both sides cost us. Americans had NO ONE looking out for us. Washington was to busy spending and looking out for their own personal wealth and trying to get reelected... The chickens were aloud to come home to roost. All these politicans on both sides are quick to say God bless America.... are they talking just about their America ? Maybe they could ask God to bless working America. I believe in God but these people in washington need to role up their sleeves and give us something for our buck ! I will never understand how a nation as great as we should be, with all the wealth we provide our government to protect us let 911 happen. If something like that happened to China, heads would have rolled literally. Some in our government talk about personal responsibility and accountability... It doesn't apply to them..... they can't survive without us... we have to survive in spite of them.. we need to let them know in the next election who is working for who.... a vote for Obama will make a lot of throats dry in washington... we need to turn over seat on both sides... no more hand outs.... no more free lunch in washington.... Some in our government say that it's unamerican to redistribute wealth...... I couldn't agree more.. my qestion is ?? why then does our government put in place policies that enhance economic conditions that strip the American people of their wealth. I don't just blame 43 but he is the poster boy..... where the rubber meets the road, when the deal is made there is know one their for us... corporate and foreign interest have their voice..... our voice is our vote and not enough of us do. Obama is right about one thing, it starts at the bottom up and we can take our country back if we want to. ......Obama talkes about change but he went with Biden ???? from what I have seen experience is not all that valuable in washington in recent years...... experience has us right where we are .... I vote for new blood, any where any place I can find it....left or right.......we need to find AMERICAN LEADERS IN BOTH PARTIES ! my congressman jim walsh (R) is retiring after 20 yrs of free lunch... he said there is no one thing that brought him to that decision.. Truth : he sees the writing on the wall.... almost lost for the first time last time..... 10 terms is to long... my parents voted for him in the past.........I have untill the last 2 elections.... God Blessed us..... He's not running again because he knows he can't win. He doesn't want to go out the loser he has become.....washington does strange things to good people over time.... I would love to see this all over the country.

The best thing Clinton did was jobs more and more jobs. There were more people paying taxes then at any time since. And even tho his taxes were higher for those over 300000. The rich stil got richer under him. And by working with congress to cut spending they left Bush a surplus.
As for markets it took 7 years to get market higher or as high as under Clinton. And now it's back behind again. Bush will go out a loser.

my friend, I accept your opinion, my opinion is : some think like you do because of SEXism or racism... if you read my post, I did not say you were either. .......you make that call........I don't know how you can think she has only been proud of her country until now if you put that statement into context with the rest of her life and actions...... It seem to me that her standards are a bit higher than yours and most......You don't get where she is coming from and where she is going........I'm also sure that a woman as smart as she would use the rev wright as a teaching opportunity for her children. All the people that cry about the obamas going to this church for 100 yrs.... Do any of them believe in free will, the ability to reason for ones self and take the good and learn from the bad.... The rev wright thinks like he does for a reason... those that think like him are not going away... Look at her mother and her brother and what she said about her father...look at her record of service to community..... Do you think this smart woman is going to teach her children hate, sexism or racism ? You went right to the racism, my point was geared more towards sexism. NO ?
