I've had my OLED for a year now and I still look at it and think what an amazing picture it has. Live sports are simply awesome.

If this wife puts a game on Directv on PAUSE and starts doing something else for 30 minutes will disaster ensue on the OLED SCREEN?

we get that moving black Directv logo until I don't know how long on Pause.

My understanding (your own research would likely be better) is OLED's are more subject to burn in than LCD tv's. Not so much you should really let it sway you from buying one because it would need to be hours and hours of a static image.

I would think leaving it on CNN, for example, every day for a prolonged period of time would would give you concern where the news ticker is at the bottom more so than a game being on pause for 30 minutes.

Might be worth looking into. My wife and daughter pause movies all the time from the blue ray player that is also 4k and bright as the sun sometimes and I haven't noticed a problem in the slightest. Again, mine is only a year old.

You simply can't beat the picture quality.

thanks Peng...........saving for a big one......

I didn't read through the other thread, so this may have been discussed, but Costco for the win on this one.

The free extended warranty makes you feel better about a large purchase like that. I got mine last year and debated between a 75 inch standard 4K at Best Buy and the 65 inch LG OLED at Costco and I do not regret the "smaller" size one bit when comparing the picture quality.

Friends/family that stop by to watch a game often comment on the picture, it really is that good.

PF, do you get NFL/NHL matches in 4k ?

OLED is really stunning when watching sports, even with 1080p broadcasts that we got over here... but anyway, tv-scales 1080 to 4k. LCD lacks the color accuracy and contrast that gives OLED picture depth and 3D feeling.

Lack of true 4k material is why i am still sticking with HD-tv (need to update br player to 4k player too)

cheers
