Riff,
I grew up in the Southern Ohio area- The Huntington, Ashland, Ironton "metropolis" of Appalachia Tri-State. I give this background because I want you to know that I know these two schools.

Huntington High vs Cabell Midland; Battle for the shield- Cabell Midland is a consolidated high school for Barboursville and MIlton high; This is a brutal brutal rivalry. These two teams hate each other more than you could imagine. It boils into the streets... It makes Michigan vs OHio State look like a cake walk. They do not like each other.
Both teams have already clinched the playoffs. HH is the top rated team in the state. They have done it with a great defense. They beat one of the top teams in KY Belfry earlier in the year. When you compare opponents the thing you will see is that HH beat the teams that CM had shootouts with. This is going to be a war. The playoffs clinched and the undefeated season make me pretty sure HH will go balls out. I have spoken to everyone I know and it is the same thing. WE are out for blood. etc etc. Midland does not throw the ball. They throw the ball 2 or 3 times again maybe.... They run the ball.
THis game was rated the #7 national rivalry by MAX PREPS.

HH wins with that crushing defense. Spring Valley beat CM 56-28 but HH beat Spring Valley 14-0
Because of how big of a rivalry it is I find it tough to come to the outcome that I do. However, I see nothing more than a HH blowout. I would not be surprised to see a 44-10 type game. That is how I am playing it. HH and Under

Very glad you chimed in on this one... I took a couple of days off before the College Basketball gets going and the NCAA Football season winds down..... Made some notes on the Cabell-Midland/Huntington game and basically comes out the way you called it... These Rivalry games are huge and these teams that are Underdogs seem to perform better on the big stages...I'm waiting for some input from my southern section Swami, on the later game (his Alma Mater is Viejo so he always has a pretty good grasp on what's taking place in the Trinity League.... Should have a small write up in a little bit.. Gluck

Boy...

Boy...

That was WAY too close. We left a lot of points on the field. HH was CLEARLY the superior team and that final score should have been much greater. A win is a win is a win.

I am rooting for a HH vs Martinsburg State final as that would pit the Awesome offense of Martinsburg vs this tough HH defense.

I hope it helped. Should not have been as close but we got it.

On to the next ones... PLayoff time!
