No doubt , DJV. And what REALLY scares me is when I fish into my pocket for a 20 and a 5 comes out. It's like God is trying to tell me something.

Beer is proof that God exists, loves us and wants us to be happy.
Benjamin Franklin

This leads to the following logical construct:
  • God is Beer
  • Bush was an Alcoholic
  • Replaces his lust for beer with lust for oil
  • God gets mad
ergo, the mess in Iraq.

I shall not ever do that because in that one Brady Bunch, they worshipped a false idol and the whole gang had bad luck for the rest of their vacation. And I simply don't have it in me to bear false witness. That's a big no-no also.

But waking up in a fog fully clothed with a crumpled up wad of one dollar bills in my pocket? That's not so bad. In fact, I believe it happened to Moses a few times.

Hmmm DJV your Luthern? Went to a Lutheran school myself from 1st to 8th grade. Am sad to say I haven't been in church for many years.

But religion sure is main topic on fore front. The ACLU assault on religion is unbelievable.

Do they really expect us to believe that our founding fathers wrote the constitution for the purpose of removing God from society. eg pledge of allegiance-crosses on state symbols--in God we trust on money--protecting child pronographers--using constitutions to ban boy scouts but promote gays ect.

While Eddie says yes, I have my doubts.
--and whether a person is an athiest or agnostic I would assume they would feel much better and safer living in a community with "little white church" and homes with white picket fences than the getto's of Cinn.

---and I think we will see the ACLU agenda backfire. While minorities have primarily voted Democrat in past they have very religious roots for most part--and once they understand where the left is trying to take them I think we will see a migration to the right---and won't take a lot either. If they reduce the 90/10% ratio to just 75/25 the left is in BIG trouble.

DTB I agree ACLU push on many items is just nuts. A middle road has to be found for some things. But getting all hot about a cross here or there or the ten commandments. Just not needed.
As for the pledge. Either way it's ok with me. It started with out god in it. If I remember right. So if taken back out does not really matter. Yes Lutheran School till 6th grade here. Nasty teachers back then. We had to behave. When then said pay attetion or stop talking you listen. Now days they would have the parents sueing many of them becase they made us shut up there way.
Had friends that went to Catholic School. Said Nuns were the same. You didn't listen you were in deep chit.
Thats what we need more of in this country right now. More room for teachers to teach. And if you dont behave you pay. And
Mom & Dad dont show up at school with there lawyer.

"one nation under God" i believe was added to the pledge in the 1940s after a petition from the Knights of Columbus, (a Catholic mens group) was approved to do so, I think it made a good thing better. By the way I heard Christ is coming back and is pretty pissed, I bet all hell breaks loose!

Peace,
ll
