Smurphy, I thought Barney FAG, I mean Barney Frank was going to get that changed when the Democrats took over 1 1/2 years ago.

I'm a fiscal conservative, I gamble, drink and don't go to church.

Takes a lot to change the laws back. The GOP is still nearly half of congress, which poses as a quite an obstacle on issues of personal freedom like this one.

(CNN) -- Hillary Clinton's campaign has apologized for "inappropriate" language used by her husband in response to what it called an "outrageously unfair" article about the former president.

Bill and Hillary Clinton campaign in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Monday.

The article, by Vanity Fair magazine's national editor Todd Purdum, suggested that Bill Clinton's personality had changed since his 2004 heart bypass surgery and said that there were reports of Clinton "seeing a lot of women on the road."
:0corn :0corn
Purdum quoted four anonymous former Clinton aides saying that another of his former assistants had conducted "what one of these aides called an intervention" about the reports of philandering.

A writer for the Huffington Post, Mayhill Fowler, asked Clinton on Monday what he thought "about that hatchet job somebody did on you in Vanity Fair," according to a recording of the exchange posted on the Huffington Post's Web site. Listen to Clinton call the reporter a "scumbag" ?

"[He's] sleazy," Clinton responded. "He's a really dishonest reporter."

Clinton said he had not read the article but that he was told that "there's five or six just blatant lies in there. But he's a real slimy guy."

Calling Purdum a "scumbag," Clinton said "he's one of the guys that propagated all those lies about Whitewater for Kenneth Starr. He's just a dishonest guy -- can't help it."

Purdum "didn't use a single name, he didn't cite a single source in all those things he said," said the former president, who added that the article was "part of the national media's attempt to nail Hillary for [Barack] Obama."

He said readers should be wary of news accounts that rely on unnamed sources.

"Anytime you read a story that slimes a public figure with anonymous quotes, it ought to make the bells go off in your head," he said.

Late Monday, Jay Carson, a spokesman for Hillary Clinton's campaign, said that "President Clinton was understandably upset about an outrageously unfair article, but the language today was inappropriate and he wishes he had not used it."

Purdum, a former New York Times reporter who covered the Clinton White House and is now married to former Clinton press secretary Dee Dee Myers, defended his article on CNN's "The Situation Room" Monday.

He told CNN's Wolf Blitzer he was "very careful to say there is no clear-cut evidence that President Clinton has done anything improper." Watch CNN's Wolf Blitzer interview Purdum ?

"I reject the notion that I'm making an insinuation," Purdum said. "But I'm very comfortable quoting the people I quote because I know who they are, and I know that they are very senior people who have known President Clinton for a very long time and work for him at very high levels."

In his article, Purdum quotes a Johns Hopkins cardiologist -- who was not involved in Clinton's health care -- who says that the former president's bypass surgery could have affected his mood, perhaps even causing depression.

And on CNN, Purdum quoted "some people who work for him" saying that Clinton "seems to be angry all the time."

Purdum added he himself believes there's evidence the former president is acting in a different manner.

"I think there's a good deal of evidence that he is quite a bit angrier than he used to be," he said. "He's clearly very angry at the media, and he's very angry at the way he sees Sen. Clinton's campaign has been treated."

"I don't suggest that anyone can say -- except perhaps his own doctors over time -- with certainty that [the surgery] has affected President Clinton," he said. "But again, this article involves reporting with a whole bunch of people who have worked for Bill Clinton over many years. And this is one of the things they raised with me. I didn't go raising this."

Clinton's office issued a rebuttal of Purdum's article that decried his use of "one doctor who has never examined President Clinton."

"This theory is false and is flatly rejected by President Clinton's doctors who say he is in excellent shape and point to his vigorous schedule as evidence of his exceptional recovery," the rebuttal said. Watch analyst James Carville's take on the article ?

The lengthy article hits newsstands later this week, though Vanity Fair has already posted a copy on its Web site. The posting prompted a blistering response from Carson, who called the piece "journalism of personal destruction at its worst."

"A tawdry, anonymous quote-filled attack piece, published in this month's Vanity Fair magazine regarding former President Bill Clinton repeats many past attacks on him, ignores much prior positive coverage, includes numerous errors, and ultimately breaks no new ground," he said.

Purdum last year wrote an article about efforts by Sen. John McCain, now the presumptive Republican nominee for president, to draw in the party's more conservative voters.

Why would Clinton apologize for calling him a scumbag if its not true.

I guess scumbag is a little close to his britches.

maybe he should have called him a spermbag on a blue dress. :142smilie

Now we just have to wait for the woman that Willy has been boinking to come forward and try to blackmail him or worse.

Them Clintons. Such drama in their lives.

If he really was having affairs again, you just got to come to the conclusion that Willy is one sex addicted depressed person.

How much more could he embarress Hillary and Chelsea.

(Sources for this episode include author Richard Poe, NewsMax, and FOXNews.)

On Sept. 14, 2001, Hillary Clinton, New York's junior senator, visited Ground Zero. You might not have read it in the New York Times, but many of New York's finest, the police officers and firemen, refused to shake her hand. These heroes see things much more clearly than the average America who still does not know the real Hillary.

On Oct. 20, 2002 she was literally booed off the stage at Paul McCartney's benefit Concert for New York. The boos were substantially edited out when the tape was sold to the public. That will be included in a future Hillary episode.

Fireman Mike Moran, who lost his brother and our FReeper friend, Battalion Commander John Moran, knows the real Hillary. "She doesn?t believe the things she says," said Moran. "?I don?t think there has ever been a sincere word that has ever come out of her mouth." The firemen know that all she cares about is a photo op to help her get back into the White House.

It would be common decency that a Senator from New York would attend the funerals of heroes who died on 9-11. There has been no such decency from Hillary. We can only find evidence that she attended one funeral -- the burial of Father Mychal Judge, which was a media-saturated event. The other two events she attended were televised memorial events at Yankee Stadium and at Ground Zero. According to journalist Betty Harpaz, Hillary fears being booed by mourners. In contrast, Rudy Giuliani and Gov. George Pataka attended hundreds of funerals.

FOXNews attempted to learn from Hillary's office how many funerals she had attended. Her office has refused to give a response. Senator Chuck Schumer's office did respond. He attend 10 funeral services.

Anthony Gardener, who lost his brother Harvey in the World Trade Center and has become an advocate for the victims of the disaster, told FNC that he contacted Clinton's New York office twice but got no response. "I invited her to come and be on our board of advisers to help us with the nonprofit support group that we created, WTC United Family Group," Gardener told O'Reilly. "I never had any feedback from her office, not even an assistant to an assistant or anyone."

Why would she fear being booed? Perhaps it is partly because of Hillary's cozy past with the Black Panthers at Yale. Perhaps is it partly because of running cartoons in the Yale newspaper depicting officers as pigs. Perhaps it is the world's smartest lawyer publicly declaring that the police were murderers in the tragic shooting of shooting of Amadou Diallou before they had a trial.

Her alliance with race-baiter Al Sharpton and public pronouncements actually inflamed racial tensions and helped encourage rioters in Brooklyn hurling bricks and urine-filled bottles at the police. After years of great work by the police and mayor Giuliani substantially cleaning up New York, there was a threat by the Justice Department for a federal takeover of the NYPD. Little notice by the mainstream media was given to the fact that shootings by New York City police officers were at a 30-year low.

The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) endorsed George W. Bush for president on Sept. 8, 2000 after having endorsed Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996. The change of heart, according FOP national president Gilbert G. Gallegos, was because of federal harassment and Justice Department lawsuits against police departments and the Clinton pardoning of FALN terrorists. That pardoning of 16 unrepentant Puerto Rican terrorists was clearly calculated to bring Hispanic votes to Hillary's run for the senate.

Everything is a photo-op. Everything is always about Hillary. May Americans wake up in time.

Bill isn't the only wannabe warrior in the family. No, he isn't. His lovely wife claims to have shown a streak of patriotism. In 1994 Hillary actually said that she tried to join the Marines 19 years earlier. The claim had gone largely unchallenged.

A female U.S. Air Force vet contacted NewsMax to give her reasons why she believes Hillary invented the whole story. Say it ain't so.

One of the claims from Hillary as to why she was turned down was because of her poor eyesight. The problem according to the vet was that perfect or near-perfect eyesight was only required for flying jobs or those dealing with intricate electronic maintenance or radar. Most other jobs simply required vision to be corrected to 20/20 with glasses or contact lenses.

How about Hillary's claim that they told her she was too old at 27? Probably bogus. In 1975, the age limit for officers was 35. Now it's age 49 maximum. Hillary's age of 27 would not have been a problem. She was then a lawyer and would have been greeted with open arms and commissioned as an officer.

What about Hillary's sex? No, not whether she preferred girls. No, it's about being a woman. It was no barrier. The NewsMax source joined in 1975 as an aircraft mechanic. The military was working hard to recruit women into what had been traditionally viewed as male jobs. The Marines would have jumped at the chance to recruit a female lawyer.

Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. Is there anything about you that is genuine?

Laugh if you like, but the National Enquirer has actually been of source of some decent reporting. Along with talk radio, they did stories that wouldn't be seen on Brokaw, Jennings, or Rather.

A private investigator tracked down by The Enquirer confirmed what L.D. Brown has said -- that Hillary was having an affair with Vince Foster, the Clinton attorney whose body was dumped in the park.

The Enquirer reported that Bill and Hillary Clinton spied on each other for years hiring private investigators who turned up evidence that they Both were cheating!.

One private investigator compiled a secret sex file that accused Hillary of having an affair with longtime Clinton adviser Vince Foster, whose 1993 death was ruled a suicide.

One private investigator tracked down by The Enquirer, Ivan Duda, confirmed: ?Hillary wanted me to get the dirt on Bill to find out who he was fooling around with.?

The investigator had access to Hillary's personal schedule and other key information thanks to Bill's associate. The P.I. did months of digging and surveillance and compiled an extensive file. As far back as the 1980s, Hillary hired Little Rock P.I. Duda to spy on Bill.

?I came up with eight women he was involved with,? Duda told The Enquirer. ?What really ticked her off was that one of them was an employee at the Rose Law Firm, where Hillary herself was a lawyer.? Duda said he learned from other investigators that Hillary's spying on her husband was a common practice over the years.

?She could gain the upper hand that way, chewing Bill out and running damage control when necessary to keep his sexual straying from leaking out,? an inside source revealed.

?Bill's pal and political operative Dick Morris said the Clintons hired San Francisco P.I. Jack Palladino as a member of a 'secret police' force the Clinton administration used to discredit women who had sexual affairs with the President.

?And former independent counsel Joseph DiGenova revealed that another private eye, Terry Lenzner, was also hired by the Clinton White House to dig up dirt on him and his wife.?

Despite all the spying, Bill and Hillary have remained together. Their marriage is more about power than lust, more focused on politics than faithfulness, the Enquirer said.

I guess they have a agreement .

Wonder what happens after she loses.

CNN) -- Actress Gina Gershon is demanding a retraction from Vanity Fair after the magazine reported "high-end Hollywood dinner-party gossip" that former President Clinton "has been seen visiting" her in California.

Actress Gina Gershon "is extremely offended" by the Vanity Fair article, her lawyers say.

1 of 2 The lengthy article by the magazine's national editor, Todd Purdum, mentioned the actress along with several other women rumored to be associated with Clinton, all anonymously sourced.

"Todd Purdum's insinuation is a lie, and it is irresponsible journalism," said Gershon's publicist, Mara Buxbaum. "We are demanding a retraction."

A letter sent by Gershon's attorneys to Vanity Fair editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, obtained by CNN, demanded a published correction and retraction and threatened possible litigation for defamation.

The actress appeared in 1995's "Showgirls" and the more recent "P.S. I Love You."

Gershon "is extremely offended by the false and defamatory inference that she engaged in an adulterous relationship with the President," the letter says, adding that the actress has been in the same room with Clinton three times, always in the presence of at least a dozen people.

"It is apparent that Vanity Fair was intent upon publishing unsubstantiated rumors, and that it avoided learning the true facts so that the truth would not get in the way," the letter says. "Such conduct is reckless and malicious, giving rise to substantial liability for defamation."

In a statement, Vanity Fair denied that the article indicates any "improper relationship" between Clinton and Gershon.

"The story merely examines the concerns of some of Clinton's aides about reports of his behavior," the magazine said. "We don't believe that any correction is warranted."

Purdum's article, "The Comeback Id," quoted multiple anonymous sources questioning the former president's behavior since leaving the White House.
