Opening Lines are used. Stale lines are trounced on by smarter players every week.
For instance on 12-21 Cle vs Carolina was Cle-1.....just about all of the top 50 had Carolina as a play , also vegas has the line at Carolina -3.5 by Thursday that week which is when the contest entry is due. Those kinda lines sometimes made a few games gimmes here and there.
