Hirschbeck alert for Saturday

Johnny under is scheduled behind the plate at Turner Field on Saturday. This guy is a solid under play all by himself, but I can't yet pull the trigger, what with Sosa starting for the Braves...at least Braves pen should be fresh, what with Smoltz completing his start Friday.

Any thoughts on this 8 1/2 total out there?

Hard to put a finger on the total for this game.

1:Wash. pitcher O'Conner is making his Major league debut.
2: League is batting .310 against Sosa
3: Atlanta averaging 6.16 RPG in last 10
4: Neither Bullpen is very effective

It's beginning to look more like an Over (8') game to me..... :shrug:

this is o'conner's 4th start.

Michael O'Connor (2-1, 2.12) will try to win his third consecutive start when he takes the ball for Washington. The rookie left-hander gave up three runs and five hits over five innings in a 5-4 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday.



"It was definitely a little shaky early, but I was able to get through some innings without giving up too much," O'Connor said.

I can't play an under in an Atl game with the bull pen they have got. Besides that, this crew has gone over the last three Sat. Hirshbeck is 7-2 under on the season but is very capable of narrowing the strike zone.
