I may be way off, but this jets team/season reminds me a lot of the steelers in 2005. Big ben was on sportscenter earlier, and even he made a reference of how much this current jets teams reminds him of his squad a couple years back.
Both teams started the season 7-2 before losing a couple late and entering the playoffs with a 11-5 record.
Mark Sanchez is in his second year of a starter, like big ben was.
Jets lost in the AFC championsip the year before gettin back, just like the steelers did in 05. They lost the 04 championship too New England.
Both teams entered the playoffs as the #6 seed.
Both teams went too indy and beat peyton manning in the dome.
Both teams rely on their defense. If you remember the 05 championship for the steelers, ben was not nearly the QB he is now, and wasnt really asked to win the game, but more so no too lose it. I thnk Sanchez is in a similar situation.
Both teams have a good running game with a solid #1-2 punch. BETTIS PARKER vs GREENE TOMLINSON
both teams have loud mouth linebackers PORTER vs BART SCOTT
I may speak for myself here, but like the jets this year, i didnt expect the steelers too end up were they did, and that was winning a superbowl. I didnt think the steeleres would get by indy, just like i didnt think the jets would get by the pats this year.
I may be wrong here, but I really think this current jets squad is so much like the 05 steelers its scary. If history really does repeat itsself, were gonna have to listen to fatass rex ryan for the next year talk about how he won a championship:facepalm:
I guess what made me think of this was because i lost a lot of money betting against the steelers in their superbowl run that year, and so far i lost money when i bet Indy ML, and the Pats -2 in a teaser. I am already on the steelers -3, but maybe I should allow history too teach me something and save my money. I know how a team did 5 years ago will not affect a team this year, but still i wanted too share and see if anyone else thinks they are similar.
GL MJERS on your championship week wagrs, but beware, maybe this just is the J-E-T-S year :scared
