I have always thought you shouldn't be allowed to throw the ball off an opponent, but I know it would be sort of a judgement call if it was not legal...

Still, Washington takes the ball out, up 5 I think and no timeouts. It would have been a 5-second call but instead the guy throws it right into the face of a defender 2 feet away as hard as he cans.

This is considered smart basketball yet a punch to the face in retaliation would be a technical foul, ejection, and huge suspension.

Thuggish play helped Washington hold on. Total crap.

I didn't mind losing the bet and yes, UCLA played like crap. I only watched 2nd half...

Just hated seeing the guy throw it directly into his face from literally a foot away.

Also, I had 2nd half too and had a chance if UCLA won, but mainly posted b/c of what happened.

Had a great day too. 11-4-1 as I just got lucky with UNC game and 2nd!

No, not hurt/injured. I'm sure it didn't feel good getting hit in the face on purpose from that close range.

All I'm saying is that its legal. So why not just play some greek dodge ball and beat the shit out of the other team....by resorting to those old "greek dodge ball" skills...

I remember when Northwestern had a big guy named something like Evan Eschmeyer, and he was a beast to get the ball in against from under the basket. I saw that happen a few times with him... could've swore a guy was T'd up for doing it at least once, but that was back in my early college days, so I could easily be mistaken.

Eschmeyer, wow that's a blast from the past. It felt like he was at Nortwestern for 7 years. Not sure how many medical red-shirts they gave that guy.

Yeah, like I say I could care less about my bet. UCLA played like ass. But at the same time, if a 5-second was called (and they did have no timeouts)....they have the ball down 5 with about a minute left.

Just kind of crappy to throw the ball directly at a guy's face, a foot away, to keep the ball.

The guy tried to shake hands after the play and he wouldn't. I was hoping he would knock the chit out of him. I mean, really, whats the difference? Other than a huge difference in perception...

Glad you had the video clip... the guy for the Huskies should be suspended. If this is legal, more guys will be doing the same thing in the future.:nono:

If this is legal, whats to keep any player with the ball, whether it be an out of bounds play or somebody with the ball in bounds from doing that, rendering the defensive player temperarily useless and taking it to the hoop. Wheres John Chaney when you need in him with his "goon".

When I saw the play, I thought, oh wow, are you serious. That type of play needs looked at. It's bush league and there should be none of it had.

That's a lack of class, sportsmanship, and most importantly, it shows what type of person you are.

SAD

...no, i didn't bet on the game

Like I say, I've always hated that you can throw it off people in general, but people think I'm an idiot when I've mentioned it in the past.

So, I'm sort of ok with it if you make every effort to throw it at the guy's legs. In this case, either throw it inbounds or take the 5-second call....

Yeah, I guess I could agree that it's cheap in general that you can throw it off people. I just think purposely throwing it at another persons face is just even worse.
