Once Kerry wins and our county's back on track, I'm sure the centrists will all be too happy to post. And with the neo-cons already on record as saying questioning the President in a time of war is downright unpatriotic, I'm sure this forum will no longer be necessary until 2008.

The problem Cman is kerry knows he can't win with a liberal lablel.
Even the majority of Dems shun the far left and liberal label.
but--there is always the snow job and flip flop.
The flop--
"It seems like a lifetime since July 1991 when Sen. Kerry declared: ''I'm a liberal, and proud of it.'' Thirteen years later, the L-word is forbidden language for Kerry. He is attempting what only Bill Clinton among recent Democratic candidates has accomplished: covering left-of-center policies with a facade of moderation. Kerry, less skilled than Clinton as a political dancer, is burdened with a 30-year record of nearly unbroken liberal votes."

His whole campaign has been to avoid his past and try and persuade the gulible they should believe what he says not what he does.

"Kerry a liberal, not moderate
As the saying goes, "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." In the political world of 2004, the greatest trick Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry ever pulled was to convince the voters of his moderation.

Starting in Iowa and New Hampshire, Kerry put forth a moderate persona to counteract Dean's belligerence. And it worked. Polls in New Hampshire at the time showed Kerry with a 43-18 lead over Howard Dean among moderate voters.

ABC News went so far as to tout Kerry's moderation as a reason for his large lead.

A broad base on issues, a moderate image and a sense of electability powered John Kerry to a double-digit victory in the New Hampshire primary.
But Democrats have another thing coming if they believe they've put forth a moderate candidate to take on President Bush this Nov. A sure nominee after winning big yesterday in the largest primary contest yet, Kerry now has the task of fooling the rest of America as he has the Democratic Party.

Being a Massachusetts liberal doesn't help. Neither does his voting record.

On a scale that ranges from 0 to 100, Mr. Kerry compiled a composite liberal score for 2003 of 96.5, the highest in the Senate. He eclipsed proud liberals like Paul Sarbanes (94.7) of Maryland, Barbara Boxer (91.2) of California, Tom Harkin (89.3) of Iowa and the Senate's liberal lion, Edward Kennedy (88.3), his Massachusetts colleague. It was the fourth time in his 20-year Senate career that Mr. Kerry compiled a composite voting record that was unsurpassed in its liberalism by any of the other 99 members of the Senate.
And with Ted Kennedy in his corner, this may prove to be his most daunting Houdini act yet."

Just curious but wasn't FDR a Progressive liberal? Do we not all agree that FDR was one of the top five President's of all time? I don't see why Kerry runs from the tag of Liberal as he should hearken back to the days of FDR and say look what this Liberal did for America as he led us to victory in a time of World War and he stimulated the economy and created social works such as the New Deal. From all the polls that I have seen on-line FDR is always rated in the top ten and most of them have him rated in the top 5 when ranking American Presidents.

FDR was a rich patrician king. from 1932 on fdr made sure he stayed rich and the rich stayed rich. in the late 30's, when ww2 was looming, it became apparent that the country would have to boost up the poor for a fight at the expense of the wealthy. the jp morgan bunch put a contract on his life and hired a retired marine general to pull it off, but he chickened out. hate to break it to you but the japanese struck pre-emptively at pearl harbor because fdr embargoed japanese oil in the east indies. everybody on the planet knew it was coming except us. so fdr and jp morgan lived hapily ever after. sorry. best president? Probably woodrow wilson - most accomplished fdr (1932-45)
