What does that quote say? I am sure it was a combination issues. Everyone wants to pull quotes supporting their argument. Useless.
Pres takes all the credit when something good happens and places blame everywhere but himself when it goes wrong. Please grow a pair and lead. This country needs it in a very big way.

It's in English. How hard is it for you to understand?

Trench...you telling me to "own it" is great...why don't you open your eyes and tell The Obama to own it since he is MIA.

How about one post from any of you that doesn't attach blame to someone else other than the person in charge and, perhaps, note a few things that he should do...he certainly is not capable.
You don't have to tell me Obama's MIA. I could list a dozen policy issues Obama's abandoned progressives on.

As far as the credit downgrade goes, Bush, Obama and almost every member of Congress played a hand in it. But it was the Tea Party position on revenue that caused the impasse on the debt ceiling, which ultimately led to the credit downgrade. So if you align yourself with the Tea Party, just just own it, Bob.

I think you are smarter than this. Trying to make a scapegoat out of the Tea Party on this is below you.

40 years of Congress running amok and you want to blame a group of freshman Congressmen for the US downgrade?

And it's funny. Glenn Beck called the downgrade back in 2008.

Earlier this summer, Geithner said there was no way the US rating gets downgraded.

Kinda funny that Beck has been the one telling people to buy gold for the past 8 years (around $400 / oz and now it is over $1700 and pushing for $1800.

Love him, hate him or indifferent, the guy has been right on those two calls.

It is what it is, SSD.

I'm merely taking John Chambers at his word. Are you implying he's being less than truthful?

I've read the transcript - it says that new revenue has been pushed down on the menu of options as well as only minor changes to entitlements. It also blames the political bs that ensued during the debt limit debate.

I don't put much faith in the ratings agencies after 07-08. I give them credit for having the balls and intelligence to do it but I wonder why it was not done sooner and why the other ratings agencies have not followed suit.

I applaud the Tea Party for sticking to their values.
I have said this before - if more of our politicians - of all persuasions - bore the courage of their convictions, perhaps we would not be where we are now

Come on ssd, the only reason Beck is recomending gold is because he is getting paid for it. I know you are smarter than that.

I don't endorse the Tea Party as I can't back them on social issues but, they are right on track on their financial stands.

Why is it that everyone agrees we need change but, now we have a major change...debate and lack of a rubber stamp of the debt limit increase with the typical spending increases...and everyone is up on arms.

The tax code, defense spending, the welfare state, entitlements, term limits, etc, etc should all be on the table and if it takes the Tea Party to make that happen, I'll be in their corner.

One thing we know after (pick a timeframe from 20 to 40 years) the democrats and the republicans are not going to do it either by working together or independently.

If you disregard anyone who is the spokesperson for a product, who do you believe?
