I am actually curious to see how the books handle the wagering options this season. The O/U will be unplayable for the first part of the season as I imagine we will see alot of 6.5 and even 7's posted as opening lines as public perception is that there will be a ton of scoring.

With no ties this season we will likely see the -1.5 puck line rear it's ugly head more often than not and I wonder how the books will grade shoot out wins/loses?

HAVENT SEEN ANY LINES POSTED YET ... I AGREE THE ODDMAKERS MUST BE SHAKING THEIR HEADS ON HOW TO POST LINES ... SHOULD BE INTERESTING WITH ALL THE NEW RULES AND PERSONEL CHANGES ON EACH TEAM ....

CAN'T WAIT ! LET'S PLAY HOCKEY !

Travel is something to always consider in hockey. 3 games in 4 night situations, Saturday afternoon games for example. Power play efficiency (both off and def.) will be more important early in the season while the refs crack down the clutching, grabbing and hooking. Players will learn quick though I think but there will be penalities..

Hockey will be different this year. While you can expect to see more free-flowing game play this year which would favour a fast team, I just hope the refs call it consistantly.

Hockey refs tend to smoke more pot than football refs. and no instant replay. :)

You must have 2 different bookies for hockey since there are scenarios which can work for if used correctly.

My first book offers me ML only and overtime and shootout count in the final score. (1 goal max)

The second book offers ML and .5 but overtime and shootout do NOT count. 60 minute regulation bet only.

You have to have some flexibility in the NHL.
