We all know the Home Plate Umpire can be a very powerful handicapping tool in certain games and situations, but a lot of times I notice certain characteristics or situations with certain Umps, that you won't get from the usual websites that have the common Umpire stats.
I know there are some cappers out there that have a longer history on Ump info than me, but I do have a little databank started where I'll take notes and chart stuff on certain Umps.
Something I DON'T chart, but which I feel could really be of value with some 'totals' is the TEMPERATURE during the game. With some of these hot and humid summer days upon us, Gotta feel some Umps would really expand the strikezone on days where the heat and or humidity is just unbearable.
So any cappers out there that do a lot with Umpire info, I'm curious if anyone does chart stuff like temperature? Whether you do or not, would love to hear your opinions on this.
Thanks,
Pete
