New Orleans Hornets (16-7) at Los Angeles Lakers (9-14), 10:30 p.m.

- The New Orleans Hornets try to win their second straight road game on their current seven-game jaunt when they travel to Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Lakers.

New Orleans started its grueling journey with a 93-88 victory over the Utah Jazz at Delta Center on Thursday night. Baron Davis played through severe and chronic back spasms and came up huge in the game's final moments. Davis drilled a trey and converted a three-point play with the game's outcome hanging in the balance.

"He played through it, but it's killing him. I admire him for that," Hornets coach Paul Silas said. "But a 70 to 80 percent Baron is better than we are without him."

David Wesley led the Hornets with 33 points and was a blistering 8-of-10 from behind the arc.

New Orleans is 5-6 on the road and has a 6-1 mark within the Western Conference.

Los Angeles had a two-game surge snapped by the Golden State Warriors 106-102 on Tuesday night. Shaquille O'Neal scored 36 points in the losing effort.

"They wanted the game more than we did," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson. "It came down to a couple of loose balls and the late offensive foul call. We didn't excel in areas where we often excel."

The Lakers are 7-4 at home and have a 2-6 mark against teams from the Eastern Conference.

The Lakers have won seven straight and nine of the last 10 meetings between the teams. Los Angeles leads the all-time series 21-8.

I'm not so sure...

That article says Baron davis is hurt....

Can you see him playing back to back well with
a bad back ?

He really didn't play well last nite till late.

Can David Wesley hit threes and score 33 again.

LAKERS AT HOME ON FRIDAY NITE.....ML HUGE

What happens when two guards don't score on a
primary jump shooting team ???

Means...if Mashburn doesn't have a good game...
Hornets are getting blown-out
