I went to my first Indy car race here in downtown Baltimore. It was the first year for the race here for what is going to be annual event. The track was pretty rough in some areas but the drivers were awesome. Not like excuse makers in other sports. These guys were driving 100 pmh on some bumpy track and were as professional as you can be saying they would deal with it. The race was awesome. All of the drivers were unbelievable. Very very sad...RIP Dan. I am now a fan of the sport and will definately go back next year. Really sorry to see this happen.

Was fortunate to meed Wheldon a few years ago at the Kentucky IndyCar race through a mutual friend. He could not have been nicer or more engaging. Must have had a dozen people ask for an autograph or picture during our brief conversation. I commented to him that it must be crazy always getting requests like that. He responded that if it wasn't for the fans or sponsors he wouldn't get to do what he loved.

Just very numb over today's sad events.
