Ohio but not a Buckeye
I've never bet on horse racing, and really don't know what any of these terms mean.

However, was listening to AM radio local guy I like to listen to, and he's big on betting. A caller called in and said they were willing to wager around 100$ and asked his opinion on what she should do, or how she should bet because she's never bet on horse racing before either, nor does she know any of the terms.

The guy said to BOX the 100$ and you can pick 3 horses, and hope that they finish 1-2-3 I think? Or maybe 1st, 2nd, OR, 3rd...I dunno.

Anyways, I wanna bet on the derby this weekend and want to know what peoples opinions, tips, etc...could be for a person who's never betted and wants to for this weekend.

134th Kentucky Derby

The 134th running of the Kentucky Derby is set to go this Saturday, May 3rd at Churchill Downs Racetrack. These are my picks, and this is my analysis......I have picked 5 of the last 9 Kentucky Derby Winners. Unfortunately, from a betting standpoint, the favorite, Big Brown, is my pick to win. There are, however, a few long shots which will make the exotics very attractive....

A few words about the system. I use a total of 88 factors (courtesy of All-Ways Software), then search for, what I have termed, "profiles" using genetic algorithms (courtesy of Evolver). Profiles are various combinations of six factors which have shown to be great predictors of winners, as well as losers.

Profiles 1-12 single out winning combinations. Profiles 12-21 point to those horses who have never finished in the money, and profiles 22-35 point to horses who have not won, but have on rare occasions finished in the money.

For example, Big Brown fits 7 different profiles that have pointed to eventual winners over the past 9 years, and does not fit any negative profiles. Recapturetheglory fits 3 winning profiles, no profiles that point to not in the money, and only two non winning profiles.......

I suggest the following plays:

(1) $1.00 Triple Box ; 20-18-12-7-5 ($60.00)

(2) $1.00 Superfecta: 20 with 18-12 with 18-12-7-5 with ALL ($102.00)

(3) $1.00 Triple: 20-18-12 with 20-18-12-7-5 with 20-18-12-7-5-15-17-2-9-16-19 ($108.00)

I have also keyed my top horse each of the last 9 years with all - will do again this year as well: 20 - All - All ($342.00)

Total Winnings over $25,000.00

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!

1. You are taking every combination possible with those five horses. If any three of those hit the top three places, you win 1/2 of the trifecta payout. You have 60 one dollars bets

2.You are keying #20 to win, #18 and #12, to come in second, 18 - 12 - 7-5 to come in thrird and any horse to come in fourth. You have 102 $1 bets and get 1/2 of the super payout if you hit. Any horse but the 20 wins, rip up your tickets. If the 20 wins, you need the 18 or 12 to come in second. if that happens, you need the 18-12-7-5 to come in third. If that happens, winner-winner- chicken dinner

3) $1.00 Triple: 20-18-12 with 20-18-12-7-5 with 20-18-12-7-5-15-17-2-9-16-19 ($108.00)

1st must be 20 or 18 or 12
2nd must be 20-18-12-7-5
3rd must be 20-18-12-7-5-15-17-2-9-16-19

1/2 of the trifecta payout

Basically your going for a big payday. good luck
