HOU 9%
MISS ST. 90% :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Am i missing something here ???? am i the only one that thinks HOU wins this one. They are clealy the better offensive team where as on the other hand MISS ST. offense is horrrrrible and their defense is a tad bit above average (being very generous there by saying that) ok so MISS ST. played a tough schedule so far "BIG DEAL THEY GOT THEIR ASS KICKED IN ALL 4 OF THOSE GAMES" the only games they've won is MIGHTY MURRAY ST. and MIGHTY TULANE :mj07: i don't care if they have had 5 weeks off for this game. HOUSTON is the better team and will come out on top in the end..........feel sorry for the 90% that believe MISS ST. is gonna win this game. GL people :mj14:

far more representative samples have miss state at a little better than 60%.

this has nothing to do with you, because you took the time to post and add your comments and opinion. but there is no site anywhere that is taking 90% action on any game. every now and then you see posts that say "95% of the public is one so and so".
its almost impossible to have anything be more than an 80% public choice due to volume of numbers. basically for the same reason its impossible to pick 90% winners. and even when a team does approach the 80% range in terms of being a public choice, it sure as hell aint gonna be miss state.

all that said, i think houston is the right side there and would agree on the play. but i wouldnt read too much into those absurd numbers. im highly doubting the veracity of the site where those #s are from

I'm probably on Houston also, but their Run D can be bad. If Houston gets ahead and Miss St has to play catch up then they'll take this one. But If Houston, does something stupid (this is how they loose) and get's behind where Bulldogs can just keep running the ball and get Houstons defense worn out, then kiss your cash goodbye. Plus it's really really frustrating to bet on Houston and watch them commit 15 penalites.

MSU Arguement

MSU Arguement

If i decide to bet this game it will be on the bulldogs. The only thing that keeps me from being very excited about this game is it is MSU we are talking about and they have no consistency at all, but here are some thoughts for laying off Houston.

1. Its in Starkville and its homecoming. Davis Wade Stadium is no Big House but its not an easy place to play. in 99 MSU had the second longest current home winning streak about 16 I think. Its a non-conference game and the cowbells will be out in force. Houston's only road games have been @ Tulsa and @ Utep, and a displaced Tulane via Shreveport. This is by far the toughest environment Houston will face all year.

2. Houstons opponents defense's have given up 4.1 ypc playing marginal teams. MSU's defense has given up 3.5 ypc against much tougher opponents. Safe to say Houston will struggle to run the ball. Houston has rushed for 188ypg and 4.5ypc so far this season.

3. MSU's offensive statistics look pretty bad but consider FL, Auburn, LSU, and Georgia so far and you can understand why.

4. MSU v Tulane while State looked bad in the first half I think you noticed the depth difference of the larger conference school in the second half. I look for more of the same this weekend.

5. Coach Croom really felt the heat after loosing to Maine last year. While he has been given time to turn things around its clear that loosing games you should win don't sit well with the Alumni. AD Larry Templeton is starting to feel the heat for other sports mediocrity, so a decent football season is a high priority.

6. The extra week was spent preparing for this game and not looking ahead to any other I can promise you that much.

Just my $.02.

good points SD but when a team is bad they are bad, i don't care how badly they have to win this game. they barely beat a bad tulane team and beat murray st. only 30 something to 7. where as HOU is no slouch they gave OREGON a run for their money and played some decent competition themselves. saying all that this i what i see happening HOU scores enough to win this game and MISS ST. just won't have the offensive power to keep up. GL in whatever u play bud :)
