Houses in Downtown Detroit....

A friend was told the other day, by somebody who's son has a restaurant in Detroit that one family homes in downtown Detroit are selling for $1000....

Do any of the Michigan people here know about this ?

Yes, this is true. Houses can be had in auctions for around $3500. The comment for the past 5 years is "You can buy a house for cheaper than a car" in the D. Luckily they are really trying to make a difference in the city, selling to only someone who is going to be a resident in the City.

To me, whether its $1000 or $3500 for a house, does it really matter? lol Unfortunately for those in the city and living in those neighborhoods forever, they've lost their asses on their houses.

They're giving them away, but you have to be in state and live there - no rental real estate

they're also wrecking entire neighborhoods so that they can save money on having the city service the areas.

I usually stay away from getting into arguments here....It is stupid to argue with people on the internet, but here goes....

I posted a legitimate question here & thought somebody would be able to help me out....If you didn't want to help me out then you should have minded your own fucking business & stayed out of this thread, you dumb shit....
