Is the area between Reliant stadium and Almeda Rd an ok area? I'm looking at a condo to rent for a few weeks while I'm down there but I don't want to get stuck in the hood.

Layin, my first reaction to your question is that you probably do not want to stay in this area. Get my email address from Jack and I will be more specific.

On another note, I would appreciate the opportunity to meet up with you while you are visiting our fair city and share a "pop" or three.

Ok guys, I wasn't sure if it was good or bad. I'll stay away from it then.

I'm headed down to Houston to help out a friend that owns an adjusting company. He contracts out adjusters to the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association. He just started the company in the spring and this is a big contract for him. They told him to bring 30 guys and he didn't have that many so I said I would help for a few weeks. I own a medical recruiting company here in Dallas so I'm a little more flexible on what I can do. So far it looks like I'll be working mainly out in Galveston.

that commute everyday to Galveston would suck, you might want to look in the Clear Lake area.

hope this helps

Hedge, that commute wouldn't be that bad. There are no hotel rooms in Houston at the moment. I'm headed out in an 1 hour. I have a place NW of Houston tonight and after that I have no clue. I guess when I get there I'll find out more. I have a hotel room starting on Thursday but it's in Sugar Land. There aren't a lot of places close to Galveston that are even open and if they are, the people that live down there have taken them.

What's the name of his company? I'm in Houston at the moment, but working the north side.

Simply in the Red, the name of his company is Leading Edge Claims.

Do you do adjusting?

If I don't respond for a few days, I apologize. Between going to the island and everything my days are pretty full.

Are you independent or do you work for one of the insurance companies? The Pearland area is looking bad. Not very well made homes with 3 tab roofs. I've just about gutted two today and the Pearland area wasn't even in the mandotory evac area. So far my Galveston houses have looked ok.
