Quitters

I know you were down early, but absolutely quit this game.

apparently they don't have that winning/killer instinct.

someone should tell kubiak that he is only going to be 1 game ahead of patriots after this. he coached like a loss was no big deal.

If I was a fan, I would be worried seeing how he handled it...teams that win championships go at eveygame like it is the superbowl....

this game didn't seem like that

but I took the under too, So I am loving that he wants nothing to do with scoring and trying to compete :0corn

You hit the nail on the head, it speaks volumes about your attitude and character of the team. Everybody has bad days/games but winners and champions continue to slug it out, you keep throwing punches so to speak.
Winning coaches instill that mindset and attitude that you play hard through the whistle of every play and you expect it from the QB to the water boy. If your up 50-0 you bring in the second string but nothing else changes, the mindset for those in the game should be the same.
Shit the Patriots threw more at the end with backups than Houston did.
Kubiak has sent the message that it's okay to let things slide and you can wait to fight another day. We'll see where it gets them.

I was about 10 rows behind the Houston bench, and the only guy who seemed to be giving half a damn (including the staff) was JJ Watt.

I don't totally disagree, but I could also make an argument for essentially "giving up." once they realized it was a loss.

In short, why show stuff you don't need to, risk injury, etc. Plus, mentally, it is what it is. Sometimes you check out and realize that your goal long term is more important than a certain game- see Pop and the Spurs. Or, heck, didn't the Saints lose 3 in a row to end the year when they won the SB.

Then you are a loser and not a professional.
When do you realize it's a loss? Apparently third quarter.

The stuff you show is that you care and have your teammates backs, you show the fans that pay your pompous ass an attitude and fight no matter the circumstance.

As a paid athlete the few things you can control are effort and attitude, your salary alone demands it.

Team sports require this at all times or do you think it's okay for a lineman to "check out" meanwhile your RB or QB gets the shit knocked out of him.

Doubleornothing, i disagree with a lot of what you said there. I don't really care to argue with someone who calls me a loser for the reasons stated above.

Back to civil people who like to discuss... Addict, I was arguing with the part I quoted above. I am simply saying that there have been plenty of teams that have "tanked" games and won championships. It happens every year in fact.

I'm not going to argue about certain people's efforts, but to make a blanket statement like there is no value in throwing in the towel early sometimes, and running the ball into the line, not giving anything away, and not risking injuries to your top guys is just not true.

These guys have a long term goal of winning it all. I hope it works out for them. they got their asses handed to them. They worked their asses off all week, and got deflated going down 4 touchdowns in the 3rd quarter. It's not ideal, but it happens. These guys are humans, not the robots you want them to be and "pay to see" like they are part of a circus.

Either way, I LOVEEEEE them this week, and i think they circle the wagons and play like champions on Sunday

Best,

:toast:

civil people, :mj07:
your a little thin skinned, the statement that you are a loser is a generalized reply aimed at any professional team that tanks it, checks out, or doesn't want to risk injury to backups because they realize they are losing. That mentality is what losing teams have.

Now being civil i would not encourage you to lay money down the road on losers that exhibit this type of attitude in big games.

Last time I checked the Texans were still one game up on the Patriots.

The texans looked flat and like shit last night no doubt, I have no idea how leaving all your starters in till the bitter end would help them in any way.

That game was over early in third, Kubiak has a healthy Schaub and Foster to go into next week and further. If he left them into the very end and Foster or Schaub got hurt and were out for rest of season, he would be getting killed for it.

id like to see some fire from schaub - if he has any. little too cool with things for my taste.

i see claims that many hou were injured. what i know is against GB at home and NE on road, hou showed nothing.

can schaub lead team to victory in big game? perhaps. but you can't prove it by existing evidence.

show stuff?

I don't care if they run the same play every snap, as long as they do it with effort.

these guys are professionals...I sure hope If I ever need surgery, the doctor does think the outlook is bad, and says "ah fuck it"......

bad analogy I know, but just hate quitting....hate it...

belicik and brady I promise you never tap out of a game. or coughlin...they have hardware....I assure you they would play til the end.....

fuck Houston was only down 21 in the 3rd at one point, and ran 3 dive plays...

jord your smart guy, not arguing with ya, just think we see it much different here.....I hate seeing millionaires half ass it

for the record, I agree with taking schaub/foster out at somepoint, but allow the backups a chance to play their asses off...

I mean this was a 21 point game in the 3rd, and they called it a day....think that's bogus...

and I am not disagreeing with any of you, I see both sides of it.....like I said run the same pass routes everytime so you don't reveal anything, but down 21 atleast try...

this is more so of what I was referring too....

the fact that the whole team seemed like they didn't give a fuck that they were allowing the patriots to become a game back, with the tiebreaker...

just seemed like they didn't give a fuck

I am a dolphins fan, I know what it is to have a bad team who tries hard....I would rather have that then a decent team who doesn't give a fuck
