I've been a Seahawk fan my entire life. I've been through all the crappy years, so this has been a pretty nice year. As for the Steelers fans... apparently the Steelers have already been handed the SB trophy. They just notified Holmgren and his team that they don't need to make the trip because the Steelers are apparently a lock. :mj07:

Yeah, talk about flying under the radar. Like I said before, the Seahawks will never get any respect because of their past. All year there have been excuses like strength of schedule and teams playing poorly against them. Hell, even if they win the SB I doubt anyone will give them credit. There will be more excuses...

I have never said the Seahawks stink. I love Shaun Alexander and I am a huge Bama fan and remember him there. He was there and is awesome. I think the Steelers have their hands full but think the Steelers win 27-14. Just my opinion. G/L TO ALL!!

Lee,

I wasn't directing that to you or even anyone on this site. It's just that the media and the public in general never gives this team any credit. I respect what the Steelers have done quite a bit. They're on a great run. Good luck in the Bowl!

No respect is what the Hawks want. Let Pitt and east coast talk. People under estimate this team and that is exactly what we want...... Man, the O-Line looked good tonight. They will be able to handle Pitt's blitz's and give time to Matt all night long. Let everyone under estimate the Hawks, that is what we want.

I think how the O-line handles the pressure is the key to the game. If the line gives Matt time to throw I don't think the Hawks will lose.

I will glady join you as a Seahag, oops, I mean Seahawk fan for the next week! :mj14:

I always pull for the NFC in the Bowl anyways, unless of coarse Philly or Washington are in it, but we all know how rare that is.....

The Seahawks will handle the pressure and they have a smart QB. Watching Jake the Snake today made me sick, he gave the game to Pitt. Matt runs the offence with unbelievable confidence. Sea will not have any QB problems. Watching him run the O tonight was unreal.......also the D gets better every week, Big Ben will have a tough time with the Sea D.

CTG, being a lifelong seattle guy (5 years in big d on pops move as kid) I have seen the patera days, zorn, krieg, etc etc ... lotsa great fans here, they even retired the #12 in honor of fans (12th man etc) ... the city deserves a title, Ms aint getting one for a long time if ever .. sonics got theirs 28 years ago ... But beating Pitt is tall order, I dont think Pitt talks trash so I dont see where that FX their team, etc ... fans talk, always will, and 99.99% never took a snap even in Pop Warner ...

I hope its a good game, havent decided how much I will bet but cant side with hawks here ... think pitt wins it--their D is just playing too solid now

all my best

I like Pitt. Defense has been unstoppable, might as well hand them the trophy if their game plan is similar to what it has been the past 2 weeks.

kneifl

agree I dont think ANYBODY wants it more than Cowher either.

Hey he wanted it bad enough to call MORE PASS PLAYS THAN RUN PLAYS! Enough said!

Seattle beat a GREAT defense today. The question is, does that mean they are that good, or was Carolina tired, road-sick, and too inept offensively to give their defense a chance?

I'm not bitter at all. Check the posts, I played Pitt and Carolina evenly today and broke even in NFL, so this isnt one of those desperate pissed off remarks, but take it FWIW: With a week off to rest, AND with Foster OR Davis back, Carolina wins this game today.

Carolina basically used a 3 headed monster on offense all season to compliment a superb defense, relying on it not to lose games instead of being the unit that WON games. Today their offense LOST the game. The problem with relying on 3 guys, QB, WR, and RB too much is your offense goes completely down the drain without one of those 3. Granted most teams would be at a loss w/o a QB, but the loss of a WR or RB usually doesnt hurt a team that relies more on schemes than personnel. The Eagles last season did just fine w/o T.O. in their playoff run because the scheme was what worked.

With a good gameplan on defense, the hawks eliminated Smith as well. That was relatively easy to do b/c Foster's injury FORCED Carolina to be one dimensional from play number one. The result was a 3 headed monster stripped down to one guy who simply tried to do too much. What happens when a QB tries to do too much? Interceptions, overthrowing, exactly what Delhomme did all game long. I didnt have enough faith in Seattle's secondary to shut down Smith and do that today. I was wrong.

Congrats to you Hawks fans. I'm an Eagles fan and speaking for backers of teams that dont go often, I can appreciate how cool it is to finally go to a superbowl. The game will be entertaining, no doubt about that, but my assessment of Seattle's chances doesnt go up after the "whoopin" they put on Carolina tonight. Pittsburgh picked apart an awesome defense today by demonstrating they can be two dimensional when they had to. I'm sure they can do it again to a team with even less defensive talent on a neutral field

derek:

carolina had their chance to 'earn' a week off just like the other 30 or so teams in the league. they weren't good enough to be better than an 11-5 team in the regular season (who, incidentally, lost their final two home games of the year to dallas and tampa bay -- both of whom were on the golf course after week 17). carolina was exposed for what they are -- a good team that is CAPABLE of beating anyone, but the panthers have holes, and they were exploited on sunday. there is no way to discount what seattle did. hawks could have easily been flat like the colts were after resting players -- they weren't. bottom line is that the two most deserving teams in each conference got to the super bowl and thats good to see. i hate pittsburgh, but they earned it. and im not seattle fan, but they completely shit on a carolina team that was playing as well as anyone.

It will be a great game reguardless. Trying to stir up hate between each teams fans seems pointless as there just ins't enough history between the two teams.

We gave you Franco Harris for a year, isn't that enough?

how sweet it is

so many years of ineptitude & excuses makes it so very nice to see the "seaslugs" in the big game.
However, as a life long fan of all sports seattle, part of me is still expecting a collapse. Just hope they come to play & don't get waxed in the big game.
