How is that part of the Olympics. I dont mind her displaying her disappointment after she fell on her ass but when you are on the poduim recieving your metal in front of the world. Its poor sportsmanship. Except the metal with class.

Give me a fucking break.

You train essentially your whole life for one goal and then come close but decidedly short. You are going to have emotions that you can't keep in check in the moment. That is sports. She was disappointed in herself and said so in an interview immediately after the competition.

So she looked irked on the medal stand, so what. Poor sportmanship? Whatever. Do you think the girl that won gold medal had her feelings hurt because Maroney looked disappointed when. Fuck no, she was elated because she won a gold medal and no one can take that from her.

That is like saying Eli's Super Bowl win was tarnished because Tom Brady looked disappointed that he lost the biggest game of the season.

Not even close to the same thing. She was acting like a spoiled brat. Except your medal with class.

It's accept, not except.

And I guess it is a shame that after training for four years for that moment, she didn't take some time to train properly on how to be the best sport possible and smile when falling and ending up with silver.

I agree with Poon, she didn't do anything classless she was pissed she didn't win. I have no problem at all with what she did. There have been many that have finished in 2nd place that were not happy that they finished second. She didn't do anything wrong in my opinion.

The USA chick soccer team accepted their medals in a classless manner, watch that medal ceremony and you'll see poor sportsmanship and classless behavior.

Bottom line all Mcayla did was show a sad and disgusted face for hours, nothing wrong with that.

you just can't drop the soccer thing.

And Maroney didn't have that face on for 'hours'. Right after the event she was upset and disappointed.

1000% agreed.

It's funny/pathetic to me that people care so much about how a 17 year old reacted to the biggest moment in her life - that, by the way, resulted in a huge disappointment. No one has any clue how they would react. Have you dedicated your whole life to 1 thing and then not fulfilled your goal? I highly doubt it.

She would have been better off faking it to appease the media and people who want better sportsmanship? Put on a fake smile and pretend she's happy? The crap we care about. Ha!

Bullshit. What the fuck is wrong with you? If you train your whole life and you come up short you aren't gonna be a little pissed? That was a split second image that was caught by the camera.

I don't want to be a dick, BUT, if you spent a little more time on English comprehension and a little less time looking at pictures of naked transvestites then we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

On the course!
I actually watched the event, and this kid was a little shit the entire time after she failed. She moped around, brushed people off, etc. Yeah, I get the whole, 'she prepared her whole life' routine. That's no excuse. Once the initial shock of falling flat on her ass at the biggest venue of her life was past.....she needed to suck it up, and soldier on.

When the final results were posted, she pretty much brushed off the winner with a cold 'get away from me' hug.
