How angry have you ever gotten over a loss?

Mine was a few years back, when 1A went to the OT format................Was a Pac 10 matchup, getting 12.5 points on the road my team was up 7 with a min to go. I get tied up and sent into OT....Give up a TD, then on the 1 st snap toss an INT for a TD to loose by 13 Vowed never to bet again.........................Wish I had listened to myself :cursin:

I think that was Arz St and Jake the Snake...I remember \losing the same game:(

had the same Pirates game as Gman, that's right up there, worst was Yancey Thigpen dropping a wide open TD pass from short yardage Nov. 95, per court order I am not allowed to discuss the matter, lol!!

My worse out-break was in college (not a bet) we just lost (got smoked) by the defending NCAA champs in lacrosse. Last few seconds of the game I piped a meaningless goal but got crushed from behind on the crease. On my way to the locker room I slashed a stadium post splitting my titanium stick and the ricochet came back on me slicing my arm wide open - need 20 stitches.

Taught me a big lesson, now when I lose a big play, I calmly take a deep breath, say as many 4 letter words I can think of, and finish by taking a 10 second chug of lager!

The all-time worst beat I have ever seen...without a doubt: The Buff @ NE game a few years back...Game was under the total by 7? with NE moving the ball for the game-winning TD. They get it with no time on the clock. Bills leave the field in disgust (I believe there was a bad non-call in there, TD should not have counted, but it did. Anyways, the Bills had lost the game and the extra point didn't matter - to them). With no defence on the field, the Pats decide to walk it in for 2 pts...and go over the total in the process. THAT hurt.

I concur, GM. That was my worst loss ever. you are thinking you can still afford a TD and still win the Under and then that happens. I will never forget the look on Pete Carroll's careless face as he shrugged and held up two fingers. I couldn't believe what my eyes were witnessing...

As far as getting pissed off and throwing stuff though I just don't get too emotional or riled up about how the games unfold. I believe in polarity and feel that the universe tends to even itself out over time. I had the Cowboys -5.5 last Sunday on that funky holding call/safety to cover. So now I am due for a bad one I suppose.

sucks when youre all-time worst beat just so happens to be on a game in which you also have one of your all-time largest wagers.

brings back baaaaadd memories.

astros (-140) over pirates. game 1 of a double header at pnc park.

in fact, the 3 year anniversary of this bad beat is right around the corner.

september 28, 2001.

houston leading 8-1 in the bottom of the 9th inning.

1st pittsburgh batter.......out.

2nd pittsburgh batter......out.

there are TWO outs. there is NOBODY on base. houston is wining EIGHT TO ONE.

pirates score EIGHT runs, all with TWO outs and the bases 100% COMPLETELY EMPTY (tautology added for effect, lol), and its capped off by a brian giles walk-off grand slam off billy wagner.

my ass is just now starting to recover. to add insult to injury, that was game 1 of a double header and of course the astros crusied 12-3 in the night cap.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. Had the Astros, as well. Truly the definition of a "What the F*ck is Going On Here?" game.

i dont remember the teams involved but there was a college bball game this past year where i had the visiting team plus 3...they go up 30 AT THE HALF...so i'm winning by 33 points at halftime...the home team fights back little by little to get within 10 with like 3 minutes left...still feeling good about it...next thing i know 3 pointers start flying, turnovers, fouls...after the dust settled a last second MADE free throw gives the home team the 4 POINT VICTORY...unbelievable...

id have to say mine was a few years ago, i cant remember who the qb or team was, I want to say PITT or Philly Eagles, it was a Monday Night Football game, I had the OVER, game point total was at 37, bet I had was OVER 39, 1 minute left, I have $3k riding on the OVER, i am so pissed that I am going to lose, then with 20 seconds left the QB breaks it wide open, is running down the sideline, NO ONE is near him, I start jumping up and down as this guy is making a 90+ yard run, time has expired, I start going nuts thinking I just won 3 dimes, and the freakin IDIOT runs out of bounds at the 2 yard line!!! WTF!?!??!?!??!??!?! Needless to say his diversion to go out of bounds as time expired at the 2 yard line cost me 3 dimes, and i still remember it like it was yesterday. If he just would have gone into the endzone..........

Gman I also remember that one, but to make matters worse I had some sort of family function that day and I always like to double up on the losing team of game one of a doubleheader so in the 9th inning I call my guy just before leaving the house and get $200 on the Pirates (I'm a small timer compared to you guys) can't watch on TV at all since I am at the in-laws house but I hear a news blurb about the Pirates splitting the double header so I sneak out behind the house with my cell phone and get another $200 on the Giants that night (if I remember they were an 8/5 favorite with my guy). Rmember I think I won both games of the double header when in fact I LOST both games and of course the Giants lost as well so instead of being up about $175 I was really stuck $700 WTF!!!!!!

That music city miracle game cost us about $300. I thought we had it sewn up, so I started cleaning some trout that we had caught that morning. Then they ran that bitch all the way back. I took a handful of fish guts and heaved them at the TV. They got all over the TV and furniture and walls and it smelled like rotten coochie for a month.

Gman, I remember that game too, you have the date wrong though it was July 28th, 2001, the day I got married in Vegas. I also had the Astros for a large amount for me and I didn't see the game, I just remember going into the sportsbook and looking up and seeing the line score, I almost threw up. I had to compose myself though as I was going to be getting married a few hours later!!!!
