has a shot to play in the mac championship game? :mj07:

whats sad is that last year, they actually had a GOOD team with charlie frye and were the lone bowl eligible team to get shut out.

now, an akron team that has losses to ball state and army..... has a shot at a mac title?

wouldn't be surprised to see them choke tomorrow though. thom24ad knows the akron betting rule re: dog/favorite.

to be sincere, the MAC is pretty awful this year, they had all the public and media attention year after year, this year they just have 3 steps back and acting like the crap they used to be!!

Dissapointment conference this year to me

mac is pathetic this year. toledo and bowling green both were conference favorites and both failed to impress.

there will be a changing of the guard soon, because western michigan is very, very young and will only get better.

central michigan already had a breakthrough year and will only get better.

northern illinois is probably gonna be the preseason favorite in the mac west next year.

even teams like eastern michigan and kent state arent that far off.

but for 2005-2006, the mac was pathetic. the only team that deserve to go to a bowl is the mac title game winner. any at-larges will be a joke.

cant say firsthand what its like in akron, but im a half an hour north and its been snowing since the middle of the afternoon on friday. i believe thats supposed to continue overnight. not sure how much of it will stick on the ground come gametime but weather is less than ideal.

I see the weather channel says temps will be around 24 at kickoff with 60% chance of snow and getting colder as the game goes on.
Should make for an interesting tv game at least.

Sounds like a low scoring game indeed.

Now that I have more than a couple of seconds to elaborate, I will do so just a bit.

I like the under here based on 3 factors.

Weather: As G stated, the weather will be far less than ideal. It is beginning to snow again right now and another 2-3 inches is predicted for today. The current temp is about 25 and winds are picking up with gusts of 30-40 mph predicted. Field goals will be an improbable adventure.

Kent States abysmal rushing defense: The Flashes get pounded on the ground week after week. No better day than today for Akron to pound the ball inside, and do it all day long.

Time factor: Most of these guys have never never got up at 6:00AM to go to class, let alone to go play a football game. I really do think that this is a factor to be considered, and I do not expect to observe the highest level athletic achievement from the skilled position players.

All things considered, I am heavily invested on the under today, and even played a rare 7 point tease with Kent +19 and under 46. I've been plenty wrong before, but I love this play today.

I live 5 minutes from the rubber bowl, can get in for free, but I think that without a pint of Jack you would have to be nuts to go out and watch these two teams play today.
