I think they have had the best draft thus far. Both Bryant and Ross were steals at their respective picks.

FINALLY!!!!!!!

Maybe it is Jerry's new face!!!!

years and years of horrible deals (galloway et al) and bad picks we finally make ones that i am pleased with.....

i really like gerad or however you spel his name too.....he absolutely mowed Texas and Nebraska over in those last couple gaems........and most of all......WE GOT ROY!!!!!

8th pick for a guy who is going to revolutionize the safety position (if he stays healthy) AND we made another mockery out of the ViQueens -- a move that is going to be VITAL in our next Super Bowl run!!!! Its dejavu all over again!!!

Cuz we pretty much got a free late 1st early 2nd round player in Bryant for the move!!!!!

okay then.....

meet the new playmaker: Bryant

meet the new Stepnoski: Gurad

meet the new Darren Woodson: Roy W.

looks to me like we got a pretty good big 3......and Ross isn't all that far behind.....

when the Packers are shooting for their 6th Super Bowl, maybe I will start listening to what you have to say.....until then, just keep envying the Cowboys

As long as Jerry Jones is running the show in Dallas, the Cowboys will NEVER, I repeat NEVER , achieve the level of success they enjoyed in the early 90s (thanks to Jimmy Johnson, and a sh*tload of top draft picks). Watching the Cowboy's "brain trust" high fiving each other like a bunch of high schools yesterday was a riot.....you'd think they'd just won the Super Bowl. Mind you, Jones actually thinks "Quincy Carter is our quarterback of the future...I expect big things from Quincy." The man is an idiot and until the fans in Dallas show some balls and run this despot out of town, they will be the Cincinnati Bengals for the next ten years.

Well said Nolan. Jim was the bigger reason they won. Jones is well im noit sure. I remember many ass kickings from Dallas on by boys. Now I wish we could play Dalls twice each year.

if a fool such as Bud Adams can come within 1 yard of a Super Bowl, i would never say never......i agree that Jimmy was the reason for the success, but Jerry hired Jimmy -- and he might hire a Jimmy in the future....

Campo is an idiot, and Quincy Carter is horrid as is Leaf.....but the last two super bowl winners have been Tom Brady and Trent Dilfer......two marginal quarterbacks at best -- and Hutchinson should be able to become a marginal quarterback in a couple years.....

There is no denying that Dallas should have a very go defense, but as was previous stated as long as Jones thinks he knows football this team will have problems winning. They have no QB & no backup behind Smith.

I like what Wash. is doing this off season. They got an all pro in Trotter who will stabilize their defense. They too have QB problems although IMO they got a sleeper in the draft by picking Ramsey from Tulane. He has nice size & Spurrier shoudl develop him into a good QB.

Wash. should have no problem winning their division, inspite of Snyder. That is a painful statement for me since I am a big Giants fan.Although the Giants finally drafted some one who should develop into a quality player, they have too many holes.Maybe Dallas or Wash. will take Collins off the Giants hands. He is not a winning player.

There is no question wash. helped themselfs this offseason but with QB problems there is no way they will win the division this year. Are you forgeting about the eagles??? the should have no problem winning that division this year. Although i not sure what reid was thinking picking 3 DBs with first 3 picks.

NHL8810.... New England proved that you don't need a top flight QB.And I think Wash. has a better supporting cast around the QB than NE.I just think with what they added in both players & coaching they will win their divison.Believe me that pains me being a Giant fan.
I think I heard that Phil. picked all those DB's is to match-up with the Rams spread offense.I guess the Phil.coaches think that the NFC will come down to them vs.the Rams.Although I like NcNabb alot,I dont like their offensive skill players. And don't you think they will miss Trotter on defense?

Ouch! Nolan

Ouch! Nolan

Come on! The Bengals of the next ten years! Thats pretty low. I agree the Cowboys will never have the success they had in the early nineties but I don't think well see any team have that kind of run again given the cap and free agency. As for Jones....yes he is a overbearing, obnoxious, meddlesome, know it all owner, but he's not going anywhere. But you have to admit the cowboys had a great draft. Even "Jimmyesque" if you will. As for Q. Carter the jury is still out and until he proves anything he is not the answer. The bottom line is they won six games last year(six more than most people thought they would), the defense will be even better this year and if they can manage to put up a few more points they will surprise some people. Given the cowboys are a team people love to hate because of prior success and Mr. Jones people will always look at them biasedly one way or the other. I just don't see there situation as bad as most people think, especially comparing them to the likes of the bungals.

As for diamonds in the rough Pliskin??? The only diamond in the rough of the triplets was Smith being drafted in the third round. Both Aikman and Irvin were expected to be superstars. Only time will tell if this years draft will be considered a success but it looks pretty good so far.

The NFC East will not be the laughing stock it was last year....well except maybe the Giants, they have issues. Philly and the Skins will be much better. I also didn't understand Reid picking three db early unless some of last seasons injuries are still a concern. McNabb will be an elite QB this year and his young recievers should mature. The skins D, already good as last years stretch run proved. Combined with Spurrier X's and O's could be scary. Mark my words the Beasts' of the East are coming back!

While agree that the past couple of years have shown that An average QB can win the superbowl you are not even getting average Qb play from the redskins. Plus you add the fact that you have a coach that has never seen one game of NFL action i believe it is unrealsitic to think they will win the divsion this year. I think spurrier given the chance will be a good coach but i dont believe it will be this year and might not even be with Wash..I say this because you have a medaling owner that at the first sign of trouble will pull the rug out from under him. There Def. should be there strong suit and if davis can stay healthy should be aroud 8-8 this year...

Just a couple observations/opinions

Sure seems like everybody's memories of Jimmy Johnson are awfully short. Didn't he have absolute control of the Miami dolphins and fail miserably? He controlled the draft, free agent selections, coaching, the whole nine yards and yet couldn't win diddly WITH a proven NFL quarterback. He couldn't install an adequate offensive line, an average running attack or any team unity.

Could it be that ANYBODY that runs a draft has to have the board just fall his way some years to look great? Jimmy's selections at Miami got the team nowhere, whereas the Dallas selections where he was ungodly fortunate enought o get all of Minnesota's selections in the Hershel Walker fiasco, fell his way. Maybe the old saying that it's better to be lucky than good also applies to the NFL draft cause he sure didn't prove he knew squat when he was working the board elsewhere. How many teams that draft first actually get to draft a hall of fame quarterback with their first selection?

In regards to Spurrier, I'm glad I'm not one of his quarterbacks this next year. Can't remember the number of college games I've seen where his Florida state quarterback just takes an awful beating. In the NFL, those kind of hits he seems to accept as part of springing his spread offense will get his quarterbacks killed. He'll need 5 quarterbacks to get through an nfl season his first year. Color me chicken but I wouldn't want to be a Washington quarterback this year. He needs one of those test dummies in the seatbelt ads to run the offense for him.

Nolan,

A man after my own heart:cool: , gawd I hate the cowboys. I don't see them doing a freaking thing this year, but we will see. I am a die hard 49er fan so I must admit Dallas kicked the s**t out of the Niners last year........but that was their superbowl. Dallas will not be back to the SB for years.
