This is the legit one...

the social is for YOUR protection as it is tied to your personal TAX ID which for all Americans is your social security number...

No worries with this site....

You're fine, especially if you paid it all off. 2 years of good history from now and it will climb.

I did the same thing as you out of college, millions have. That's something I wish was taught a LOT better in High School, is credit awareness for young kids. EVERYTHING depends on it now. Your ability to buy anything, even your insurance premiums, all based on credit. We need to do a MUCH better job of teaching the next generation responsible credit.

well said...

problem is that parents hand the cash over kids like it grows on trees and the truth of the matter is they are knee deep in debt.

They can't teach the chilren ANYTHING about finance and money management because their dumb asses don't have a friggin' clue about it themselves..

see it every friggin' day in my neighborhood and I just laugh my ass off.

They got $100.00 for mons Bingo and $50.00 bucks for Dad's Bud in the frig but not a damn dime saved away..

go figure why Americans as a whole are raising the dumbest and illest prepared children on the planet.

Chad: I went through 4 years of HS, and 5 years of undergrad without ever learning basic personal finance. When I was in grad school, I had an outstanding finance professor who spent a lot of time talking with my small class about this stuff. I loved it and felt pretty empowered. After getting things straightened out a bit, I started to get pissed about the fact that I wasn't taught about this stuff until my general education was over. I wrote a letter to my old HS about it in the form of a mild-mannered complaint. They wrote me back with some fluff and a request to speak to their students about it......they missed the point. I don't want to come speak about the importance of personal financial concepts, I want them to start incorporating it into their curriculum.

This stuff should be at the top of their list of things to teach kids. You can come out of HS with the ability to handle complex mathematical equations, but you won't know the first thing about compounding interest rates.....good job HS.
