affect the seedings?
Seems they were very inconsistent on this.
Cuse get rewarded huge by getting to finals.
Pitt and Uconn were unaffected by losing their first games.. in fact Uconn gets rewarded by getting a gold-paved road the elite 8.
Usc wins the Pac 10 and gets a 10 seed...showing no respect for the Pac 10 and Purdue wins the Big 10 and all they garner is a 5 seed and get shipped out west...no respect.
ACC gets it's typical "home games" for it's top 2 seeds which were seem to have been pre-determined.
Seems like the comittee wanted to make all of the "talking heads" look smart by setting up some fairly easy routes for what may become the Big East- Acc challenge, and by also listening to ESPN and their 10 hours devoted to Why Arizona should get in...does Arizona have some kind of contract with ESPN?... and the 5 hours they devoted to why the Big Ten is so bad (please disregard the #2 Rpi conference rating) That being said, Arizona gets a favorable matchup as a 12 seed vs. Utah and Illinois and Ohio st. get to play everybody's darling's of the tourney...W.Kentucky and Siena, not to mention the excellent matchup of Michigan vs. Clemson ( how is Clemson a 7 seed?)
This sets up perfect for the media as they will get their ACC- Big EAst matchups and the Big Ten will probably be all but gone after the first weekend...just as planned.
Regardless, looking forward to what should be another great tourney and as always, good luck to all.
